Applications are invited for a Research Associate in the NUS Centre for International Law (CIL). This is a one-year contractual position offered in connection to CIL's expansion of its programme on international economic law and policy. The duties of the incumbent will involve:

Nanyang Environment and Water Research Institute, NTU is looking for a Research Fellow with expertise in chemical reactors to develop an improved prototype for a thermocatalytic process.

The project is funded by National Environment Agency, Singapore to address one of the largest problems in waste management – the problem of plastic waste pollution. A significant fraction of plastic waste has substandard quality for mechanical and chemical recycling even after sorting and cleaning. The Research Fellow will work on the design, fabrication and testing of a chemical reactor system that will use pyrolysis-chemical vapor deposition (CVD) technology for converting these plastic waste streams (specifically, contaminated and rejected plastics) into multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and hydrogen. The role of Research Fellow is to design a system prototype that can effectively mitigate the impact of impurities from diverse plastic waste streams on production outputs and can be operated in a continuous mode.

Key Responsibilities:

The National University of Singapore invites applications for a Research Fellow in the Human Potential Translational Research Programme (HPTRP), Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. The HPTRP brings together researchers from a wide range of disciplines with an interest to maximise human potential. Purpose of the post

The Research Fellow (RF) will plan and execute research studies to better understand the impact of environmental heat stress on various populations. The successful candidate will be responsible to, and work with, the Principal Investigator (PI) to ensure the successful and timely completion of the project.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of the successful candidate include but are not limited to:

1. Working closely with the PI to develop new research ideas, write up and present project proposals;
2. Designing research protocols and planning data collection strategies, guided by literature reviews and best practices;
3. Leading and training teams comprising Research Assistant(s), Students etc in the conduct of laboratory- and field-based research;
4. Establishing and managing databases;
5. Rigorous data analyses and interpretation of data;
6. Generating reports and high-quality publications for presentation to stakeholders and submission to top tier journals, respectively;
7. Leading a team comprising Research Assistant(s) and Students in the conduct of laboratory- and field-based research studies;
8. Working at different study sites, depending on the needs;
9. Working beyond routine work hours due to the nature of research;

11. Maintaining regular communication with other members of the research team; and
12. Assisting with any other duties of a similar nature that are delegated by the PI.

Qualifications

The applicant should:

1. Have a Doctorate, preferably in sport science, life sciences or related disciplines;
2. Have an interest and experience leading and conducting laboratory and field research with human participants;
3. Be proficient in statistics, data analyses and data visualisation for both quantitative and qualitative data;
4. Have excellent written and verbal communication skills;
5. Be adaptable and able to multi-task well;
6. Be able to work independently and in a team;
7. Have an investigative nature and be detail-oriented;
8. Have knowledge of computer applications, e.g. SPSS, MS Office.

The Laboratory for RNA Delivery Therapeutics @ NTU

The School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineeri​ng and Biotechnology (CCEB) invites applications for the position of Research Fellow in Prof Mary Chan-Park team. Prof Mary Chan-Park and her team have recently won a highly competitive large grant on the design, synthesis and studies of the improved RNA delivery vehicles.

Prof Mary Chan-Park is currently the Centre Director of the Centre for RNA Delivery Therapeutics. She is also the current President Chair Professor of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (2024 onwards) and the 2019 Board of Trustees Chaired Professor of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering (2019-2024), both at the Nanyang Technological University Singapore (NTU Singapore). She also holds a joint appointment at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine at NTU. She is the Director of the Centre for Antimicrobial Bioengineering and the Director of the NTU Laboratory for RNA Delivery Therapeutics. She is a Fellow of the America Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering.

The Research Fellow will take on a significant role to develop stimuli-responsive nanoparticle formulations. New alternative delivery vehicles for the promising RNA nanomedicine are urgently needed to replace the current ones to achieve great delivery efficacy with less side effects. We have shown that some polymeric or lipid nanoparticles are excellent candidates as delivery agents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop new stimuli-responsive lipid or polymer formulations for RNA nanomedicine to achieve efficient transfection efficiency and endosomal escape.
• Design and synthesize novel cationic or ionizable lipids or polymers for RNA delivery.
• Formulate lipids/polymers with RNA to create delivery systems.
• Measure and evaluate transfection efficiency, endosomal escape efficiency, and other particle properties

Job Requirements:

• PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Materials Science, or related field
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in stimuli-responsive nanoparticle delivery formulations and evaluation.
• Familiarity with RNA delivery formulations (e.g., LNPs) and their evaluation.
• Proficiency in RNA formulation and RNA evaluation techniques.
• Experience with mice studies and bioimaging (e.g., confocal, FRET, FRAP).
• Strong background in lipid or polymer synthesis.
