RESPONSIBILITIES

You may be asked to participate in the development of use cases and delivery of proof-of-concept prototypesfor government and industry partners in the areas of computable contracts and "rules as code". Experience inrequirements analysis and agile, iterative methodologies will be useful at this stage.The work of the team will be largely determined by these use cases and customers. We will work with multipleuse cases so that we can abstract across them and develop generalized, reusable infrastructure. We will workwith specific customers so we can build useful applications on top of that infrastructure.You will contribute to the design and development of open-source software written to serve those use cases.You will work as part of a team of research engineers, developers, and domain expertise and you will beexpected to actively participate in team meetings and text-based communications. Researchers under the Programme should possess both mastery of their academic speciality, anddemonstrated practical experience producing and supporting high-quality open-source code throughcommunity engagement across multiple media. Candidates must have Bachelor's, Master's, Ph.D., oralternative qualifications in computer science, software engineering, (symbolic) artificial intelligence,computational linguistics, or formal methods. Fluency in multiple natural languages, and any experience with law, are a plus.

Project Overview

We are seeking at least one Postdoctoral Associate to join the "Mens, Manus and Machina—How AI Empowers People, Institutions and Cities in Singapore (M3S)" interdisciplinary group.

The M3S project is driven by the goal of investigating the nature of work, redefining our relationship with technology, and exploring how institutions can adapt to foster livability, sustainability, innovation, and social welfare.

Successful applicants will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects that aim to develop state-of-the-art AI to create future smart cities. The Postdoctoral Associate is in the program level for the five-year M3S program in SMART. The SMART team seeks to advance the frontier of AI research, apply it to society and cities, and demonstrate the concrete social impacts of the AI algorithms with broad public acceptance in Singapore.

Specifically, the SMART-Program team seeks to develop ethical, accountable, and transparent AI for broad public acceptance and adoption in Singapore. The SMART-Program team will collaborate closely with the seven projects across the M3S program. It absorbs core AI technology from the projects and then enhances AI ethics with algorithmic approaches. It will develop surveys to analyze the public acceptance regarding AI technology and designs methods to enhance public acceptance/adoption for AI. It will also help the implementation of the AI techniques across the M3S projects and works closely with the government agencies, industrial partners, and academic collaborators to demonstrate the use values of AI in Singapore.

The SMART-Program team is led by distinguished scholars, including Professor Jinhua Zhao and Professor Daniela Rus from MIT, and Professor Archan Misra from Singapore Management University.

Job Description

• Collaborate with the project team and other researchers to design, implement, and evaluate research projects.
• Publish research results in top-tier conferences and journals, and disseminate research findings through presentations and other means.
• Participate in the mentorship and training of graduate and undergraduate students at MIT and in Singapore.
• Assist in grant writing, project management, and other administrative duties related to research activities.

Job Requirements

Summary of Responsibilities

Responsible for leading and maintaining existing accounts and responding to ad-hoc research enquires from potential clients. Primary focus will be to help the Company innovate and deliver services in a unique way to stay ahead in the market.

Detailed Responsibilities:

· Account Management

o Manage existing accounts independently and provide guidance to junior team members. Demonstrate comfort in dealing with clients in understanding and delivering their needs.

o Accept incoming briefs from senior management or directly from existing clients and prepare research proposals, research design independently, provide guidance to junior team members.

Job Description

The A*STAR's National Metrology Centre (NMC) is the national measurement institute of Singapore, dedicated to advancing measurement science for an innovative and competitive economy. NMC is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and innovative engineer with excellent interpersonal skills to join our multi-disciplinary team.

Successful candidate will be supporting measurement science R&D, including metrology for sensor testing and measurement of low-carbon fuels; and characterization and measurements in Additive Manufacturing (AM). He/she will be also working with a team of metrologists and scientists to support a competent and internationally recognized Singapore national measurement infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct laboratory experiments to collect comprehensive data & data analysis under the guidance of metrologists and scientists.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking to expand our team of multi-disciplined metrologists and scientists to support our research programme in next-generation atomic clocks. The applicant will work closely with a leading R&D team from the Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT), NUS where the use of singly-ionized lutetium (Lu+) for optical clock applications has been pioneered and its key atomic properties relevant to clock performance has been established. This Lu+ ion has a unique atomic structure supporting a total of three clock transitions with extremely low sensitivities to external electromagnetic fields, making it a globally competitive frequency standard with recent measurements demonstrating its capability for fractional inaccuracies at the level of 10-18 and beyond.

Successful applicant will join our Time & Frequency Laboratory and be responsible to develop a broad range of solutions that enable progress in cutting-edge science of optical clocks that could lead to the SI Second being redefined. Together with the team from CQT, NUS, the applicant will take the ownership to jointly develop a Lu+ optical clock.

More specifically, the applicant will be involved in the design and development of atom/ion experimental setups, including frequency stabilized laser systems, data acquisition systems and software for experimental control & analysis. The applicant is expected to have a leadership role in the project and develop the project towards the goal of establishing international clock comparisons with Lu+.

Apart from this project, the applicant will also need to contribute to cutting-edge projects with potentially transformative impact. This includes our work on the next generation of optical atomic clocks, exploring options for a practical realization of the upcoming redefinition of the SI second, and investigate new applications of high-performance timekeeping.
