The research scope for this position is in perception and navigation development for an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle operating in offshore environment. We will be developing advanced techniques for structural tracking and methods for perception generalisation across multiple types of offshore infrastructure. Perception and navigation strategies around complex jackets will be devised with a high level of scale as the focus for the techniques utilised. The techniques will start first with a mapping step (not necessarily used for localisation) followed by perception and navigation step. The development will be first deployed in the digital twin model of the Technology Centre for Offshore Marine Singapore (TCOMS) ocean basin before being tested in the open waters of Singapore.

• Research and implement perception and fusion algorithms utilising sensors such as camera, stereo camera and sonar.
• Explore cost map and mapping techniques to achieve a certain level of mapping of the environment in 3D space. Be able to extend this is to enable global localisation against this pre-existing a-prior map that is built from previous mapping run.
• Research and explore possible localisation algorithms fusing multiple navigation and sensor sources with SLAM for handling of edge cases in vehicle navigation.
• Implement optimal path planning strategies to achieve efficient inspection coverage according to CSWIP 3.3U/3.4U Underwater Inspection standards.

EDDC now has an opening and is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and skilled Research Fellow with strong background in RNA biology for the IFP in the Chemical Biology group at EDDC. This is an eighteen-month on-the-job training programme that involves participation in and supporting inter-disciplinary and collaborative drug discovery projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and executing experiments to investigate the role of RNA in gene expression and regulation. This position will involve working with a variety of RNA species, including messenger RNA, non-coding RNA, and small RNAs, as well as RNA-binding proteins.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and apply RNA biology techniques to drive small molecule drug discovery programmes and characterise the mechanisms of small molecule candidates in disease models
• Design, optimise, analyse, and troubleshoot molecular biology and cell-based assays to screen, validate hits and confirm the activity of the small molecule
• Work effectively and closely with cross discipline teams across multiple fields, including computational biology and chemistry
• Hone scientific and technical expertise by keeping up to date on the relevant literature and attending workshops and conferences

Requirements:

• Ph.D. in RNA Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or related field with 0.5 years of academic and/or industry experience
• Extensive experience in RNA biochemistry techniques including RNA-seq, SHAPE-seq or other RNA chemical probing techniques to investigate RNA structure-function relationships
• Hands-on expertise in mammalian cell culture, cell-based assays, and cell line engineering via CRISPR for genetic perturbation
• Experience in data analysis using Python or R is a significant plus
• Ability to work independently to design and troubleshooting experiments
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven track-record of research productivity, including peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals

The successful candidate will develop and apply cutting-edge models that integrate large datasets of genomic sequences and social media content to understand and forecast disease transmission dynamics. They will also have access to a wealth of genomic and social media data, and will be responsible for conducting analyses that inform public health policy and decision-making.

The successful candidate will join the Protein Sequence Analysis group (https://www.a-star.edu.sg/bii/research/bsfd/psa) at the Bioinformatics Institute, which is part of the Agency for Science, Technology, and Research in Singapore (A*STAR Singapore). Our group plays important technical and scientific roles in GISAID (https://www.gisaid.org), which makes viral sequences available freely whilst safeguarding depositors’ data rights. As such, the selected candidate will be at the forefront of global genomic surveillance, and will get to interact with public health stakeholders regionally and internationally. Roles & Responsibilities:

• Work with the Deputy Director (Resource Management) and Director Corporate Services for the administration of the grant calls as part of a “Grantor role” which include, but are not limited to:

The Community Nurse (Home Care) is responsible for planning; coordinating, directing and evaluating the patient care services and provides supervision serving as the vital link between the vision of CWA and a team of Community Caregivers (CCGs). 1) Home Personal Care (HPC)
