This job aims to address some critical issues about realizing on-chip structured light field manipulation through inverse design. The main targets are threefold:

1. Understand in depth the inverse design in integrated photonics, and on-chip structured light. Explore new effects, novel phenomena, unique features, and high-performance devices based on inverse design structures. Research directions include high-performance topological photonics coupling and routing devices, all-optical logic and computing devices, etc.

2. Enhance the robustness of inverse design methods to accommodate lithography process errors and facilitate high-throughput manufacturing. Combining inverse design and new material platforms, the research results should be able to effectively provide useful guidance for the design of optical devices based on chalcogenide glass materials (such as GeSbSe) and phase change materials (such as SbSe), and develop new near-infrared, mid-infrared high-performance optical devices.

3. Find practical solutions, establish a unified paradigm for on-chip complex high-dimensional light field manipulation based on inverse design, and expand the application scope of inverse design. Explore the application of inverse design in topological photonics, structured light, and other fields. Finally, one or two prototypical designs should be experimentally demonstrated.

Considering the above research targets, the candidate should possess in-depth physical insights and interdisciplinary knowledge of inverse design, integrated photonics, chalcogenide photonics, structured light, topological photonics, mid-infrared photonics, SOI, etc.

We are looking for an experienced clinical monitor to perform the study monitoring in ADVANcing Clinical Evidence in Infectious Diseases Network (ADVANCE ID). ADVANCE ID is jointly funded by the Wellcome Trust and Singapore institutions including the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health and Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. The vision of the Network is to improve public health by developing the clinical evidence base for the prevention and treatment of drug-resistant infections. Its mission is to build and sustain a strategic clinical research network focused on most efficiently delivering locally relevant interventions for drug-resistant infections.

The Network aims to improve and strengthen clinical research capabilities in the region by acting as a platform to develop good principles and practices. It will stabilise capacity and capabilities to mitigate inefficiencies in trial start-up phase and loss of skillset following study closure, as in typical trial setup. The Network will continuously develop its capabilities, quality and efficiency by learning from and collaborating with other clinical trial networks.

In the long term, the Network aims to support broader infectious disease studies by expanding geographically beyond its original starting point in South East Asia and collaborating with other networks around the world. It will function as an active network that involves patients in platform trials, allowing for rapid clinical research response in the event of an emerging infectious disease or pandemic threat.

The monitor should be able to supervise study sites and activities to ensure adherence to appropriate study protocols and applicable regulatory requirement terms of the study.

We are looking for a Research Associate/PhD candidate to quantify vitamins and mycotoxins by LC-MS in foods and related materials and develop improved extraction and analytical methods. The candidate should be experienced in analytical science, but training will be provided for candidate who has not previously worked with LC-MS.

Potential PhD projects:

Novel high protein foods: Optimising nutrition and safety

Aim: To quantify vitamins/mycotoxins in novel soy or algal high protein food produced by TUMCREATE via indoor farming/ extrusion/ fermentation processes. The candidate will utilise these findings in collaboration with food and plant scientists to improve product safety and nutrition.

Mycotoxins and Microbiota: Determining how the human gut microbiota may increase or decrease the dangers of mycotoxins in food

Aim: To quantify mycotoxins in fecal material and in material from in-vitro fecal fermentations and explore how gut microbiota inter-convert mycotoxins into safer or more dangerous forms. The candidate will also explore how variance in gut microbial communities within the Singapore population impacts mycotoxin metabolism. Overall, this project would lead to better understand the risks posed by different mycotoxins in Singapore. This project would suit someone with existing bio-informatic experience.

Job Requirement

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/IT or equivalent.
• CCNA Certified, CCNP or equivalent preferred.
• Experienced in networking technologies (e.g., WAN, LAN, Network Security, DWDM etc).
• Working knowledge and good troubleshooting skills in routing and switching (e.g., BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, MP-BGP EVPN, VRF) etc
• Proficient in managing routers, switches, network firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, vulnerability assessment and Network monitoring systems.
• Familiar with basic Linux administration
• Some knowledge on scripting such as python to automate network procedures is a plus.
• Possess strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Independent mature team player with positive attitude.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experiences.

Job Description

We are looking for a Research Fellow who has experience in realizing two-dimensional (2D) memtransistor / memristor devices and its integration with active selectors for ultralow power electronics applications.

The candidate is expected to:
• Develop device designs, fabrication, and extensive characterization of advanced memory/transistors integrated with two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenides (2D-TMD).
• Report experimental results to the Principal Investigator
• Publish papers in reputable journals/conferences
• Assist in preparing progress reports and research proposals

Qualifications

• Possess a recognized PhD degree in Electrical/ Electronic, Physics or Materials Engineering
• He/she should ideally have a proven track record of publications in leading journals.
• Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills.
• Relevant experience in the field of CMOS nano-electronic devices and nano-fabrication technology would be an added advantage.
• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with various stakeholders.
• Meticulous, able to work well under pressure and commitment to meet tight deadlines
• Open to fixed-term contract
