Project Overview

This research project aims to grasp dynamic changes in hotel capital investments and their influences on tourism-related local businesses before, during, and after the pandemic on two geographic scales -- region (Asia-Pacific) and city (Singapore). This aim is outlined by the following three objectives:

• Examining the significance of sustainable development attributes in explaining the spatial distribution of new hotel development projects across selected cities in the Asia-Pacific region;
• Estimating the influences of new hotel development projects on the establishment of tourism-small business enterprises within and around hotel districts in Singapore; and
• Drawing evidence-based policy implications along with specific measures for cities to rebuild and expand the capacity of urban tourism in the Asia-Pacific region and Singapore.

Job Summary

The Genomics lab is looking for a Research Scientist, whose main focus is to develop NGS workflow for academic and clinical research service, and train technical personnel, leading to the implementation of these new workflow in a commercial service lab environment.
