Role Overview:
The Marketing Communications (Marcom) Manager will play a pivotal role in planning and executing media strategies with industry media, enhancing visitor experiences, and developing high-quality marketing content. This role requires strong writing skills, the ability to conceptualise engaging content for marketing collaterals and press releases, and effective bilingual communication in English and Mandarin.
The ideal candidate will also oversee the visitor journey, ensuring seamless experiences from visa facilitation to onsite hospitality and badge registration services.
Reporting to the Head of Marcom, the candidate is expected to fulfil the following key responsibilities:
A) Media Planning & Strategic Communications
1. Develop and execute comprehensive media plans in collaboration with industry media partners to maximise event visibility.
2. Manage relationships with key media outlets and industry publications to ensure extensive coverage for ITMA and ITMA Asia exhibitions.
3. Organise press conferences, media briefings, and public relations activities to promote the exhibition(s), including supporting the Communications Director leading the public relations activities in specific exhibition editions.
4. Write and manage press releases, speeches, and media kits to promote the exhibition(s).
B) Content Development
1. Conceptualise, write, and edit engaging content for marketing collaterals, including brochures, newsletters, advertisements and promotional materials.
2. Ensure consistent messaging across all integrated marketing materials
3. Craft clear and impactful press releases and media kits tailored to various audiences.
4. Ensure bilingual content (English and Mandarin) is accurate, professional, and engaging for global and regional markets.
C) Visitor Experience Management
1. Enhance the visitor journey by facilitating visa applications, coordinating badge registration services, and overseeing onsite hospitality experiences.
2. Work closely with internal teams and vendors to deliver seamless and enjoyable visitor experiences.
3. Monitor and gather feedback to continuously improve visitor engagement and satisfaction.
D) Marketing Campaigns Development with Industry Partners
1. Plan and execute marketing initiatives with media partners and associations including print advertisements, event branding, and partnerships.
2. Coordinate with media partners for coverage in integrated marketing channels (e.g., trade publications, magazines, media partner websites and EDMs).
E) Team & Budget Management
1. Performance and day-to-day operational management of team member.
2. Inspiring, motivating and supporting staff so that they are thinking and acting at their best, delivering high quality work, working as an effective team and meeting organisational and individual objectives.
3. Source and coordinate with external industry experts and identify new experts for writing articles in specific area of specialty when required.
4. Regular team meetings to ensure alignment and seamless collaboration across the Marcom department.
Qualifications:
1) Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in public relations, marketing communications, or equivalent.
· Additional certifications in public relations, media planning, or event marketing would be advantageous.
2) Work Experience
· 4 years in marketing communications, public relations, or event marketing, preferably in B2B exhibitions, or large-scale events.
· Proven experience in media planning, press releases, and integrated marketing campaigns.
· Prior involvement in visitor experience management (e.g., visa facilitation, badge registration, hospitality) would be an advantage.
3) Skills
· Strong writing and content development abilities for marketing collaterals and press releases.
· Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin (spoken and written). We seek Mandarin-speaking candidates who are required to serve Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.
· Excellent project managementskills.
· Ability to analyse feedback and campaign performance for continuous improvement.
· An aesthetic flair and a strong eye for detail to guide the design and production of high-quality marketing collaterals.
4) Technical
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with CRM or marketing tools is a plus.
5) Soft Skills
· Detail-oriented, proactive, adaptable, and able to manage multiple responsibilities and tasks under tight deadlines.
