Overview

The Job Holder will support the Clinical Services Planning & Integration (CSPI) Division including specialist and primary/community care co-leads, and work with other internal and external stakeholders to facilitate and manage the development of cross-sectoral, end-to-end care plans for NUHS Population Health Strategy 6 (pathways for conditions with significant disease burden). I am looking for one highly skilled and motivated individuals to work with me as full-time research professionals for a period of at least one year. The start date is subject to negotiation, but may be as early as 1 March 2024.

You will work with NUS Business School Professor Karsten Müller at the Department of Finance. For the most part, you will support Karsten’s ambitious research agenda on the link between credit markets and the real economy. This work uses macro and micro data and cutting-edge statistical methods to understand the drivers and consequences of who in the economy receives credit. Among other things, you will help to (a) construct novel data sources to measure credit market conditions, (b) analyse data to document the role of credit markets in recessions and stock market crashes, and (c) analyse the effectiveness of financial policies and credit subsidies in stimulating economic growth.

You will work with us on a variety of tasks, including data collection and analysis, statistical programming and data visualization, conducting literature reviews, summarizing research findings and policy documents, and editing research papers. This position is ideal for individuals with strong interpersonal skills, the ability to manage themselves and others, and an interest in economic research.

The position is based in Singapore. A successful candidate will be able to participate in the academic life at NUS, including the ability to attend research seminars and potentially PhD courses. Qualifications

Ideal candidates will:
(i) have a strong background in economics, finance, or a related field; 

(ii) have proven organizational skills;

A background in economics or finance is a plus but not necessary. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and self-directed, adept at learning new technical skills when needed.

The main responsibilities and tasks of this position are listed as, but not limited to the following:

• Participate in all sales activities in line with the sales and marketing plan to exceed hotel revenues and target.
• Acts as the main liaison person between clients/ planners, and the hotel operational departments, for all event & catering logistics from planning to execution to after-sales stages.
• Promote and sell all functions of the catering and events to achieve the optimum departmental revenue targets
• Procures new business for the hotel by establishing leads from internet, printed materials, relevant industry documents and follow ups. Establishes and continuously updates mailing lists/database
• Secures repeat business for the hotel by maintaining contacts with travel agencies, professional conference organizers / associations, destination management companies, commercial houses, government bodies, and corporate accounts, through personal sales calls, telephone contacts and written communications.
• Promotes the hotel as often as possible through entertaining, conducting site inspections, tour familiarizations & hotel presentations, etc. Organizes and attends major sales/ PR related functions, and/or trade shows.
• Analyses historical & other statistical information; and use this information when developing strategies, comparing industry practices vs. hotel’s practices. Keeps aware of trends, systems, practices for rates, package details, audio visual equipment, IT & communication systems, etc. through trade literature, hotel show and site visits.
• Creates and implements special programs / packages / promotions to achieve greater productivity through

- Increasing average rate per cover

- Increasing occupancy (Maximize Utilization of Function Space)

-Increasing business volume during non-peak periods

- Upselling and maximizing food and beverage banqueting sales, room rental, AV & miscellaneous revenue.

• Provide after-sales service and to ensure all guests’ feedback are brought to management’s attention and communicated with the respective departments necessary for proper handling. Ensure that all negative feedback are reviewed, investigated and follow-up action is initiated
• Attends & conducts event briefings, Banquet Event Order (BEO) meetings, Pre-Con meetings, and any other meetings as needed to discuss event arrangements to ensure a seamless event execution
• Handles all administrative work and updating of files on the following Catering Sales matters
• To perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Management

• Front desk and customer service duties
• Patient registration and key in appointment
• Answering phone calls and enquiries
• Maintain and update the database
• Process invoice and payment collection

Requirements:

• GCE ‘N’ Level or equivalent
• At least 2 years’ of experience in healthcare or medical industry
