Overview:
The Director of Sales is responsible for overseeing and executing sales strategies across the ASEAN region, ensuring the achievement of revenue targets and business growth. Reporting to the VP of Sales (Asia), this role involves identifying customer needs, formulating solutions, and negotiating profitable deals. The Director will also collaborate internally across various departments to ensure that sold solutions meet customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Strategy: Lead the regional sales team, aligning efforts with global sales objectives, and foster collaboration with sales leaders across other regions.
- Customer-Centric Approach: Build strong relationships with clients by understanding their needs, offering tailored solutions, and closing major accounts.
- Team Development: Coach and mentor the sales team, driving high performance through training and by embodying the company’s culture.
- Sales Expansion: Develop and implement sales strategies to expand into new markets, industries, and territories.
- Performance Management: Set clear sales goals, quotas, and performance metrics, regularly reviewing results and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Engineering, Marketing, Finance, and Operations to ensure seamless product development and delivery.
- Market Insights: Stay informed of market trends, customer feedback, and competitive activities, using this knowledge to influence company strategy.
Key Skills & Abilities:
- Proven track record in leadership, motivating high-performing sales teams, and driving growth.
- Expertise in strategic deal-making, with a history of closing major accounts.
- Ability to work under pressure and in dynamic environments, demonstrating adaptability and creative problem-solving.
- Experience in developing long-term relationships with key customers, internal stakeholders, and external partners.
- Strong understanding of value-selling and industrial sales, with an innovative approach to market expansion.
Requirements:
- 10-12 years of sales management experience, including at least 5 years in a director-level position.
- MBA preferred.
- Experience managing $50M+ in sales, ideally within a multinational environment.
