Why this role?

Safety Specialist supports business in the improvement of safety management, understanding and performance within their organizational responsibility area. They work with the global/area/unit teams to implement, maintain and continually improve KONE Way for Safety.  

What will you be doing?

Safety policy and objectives

• Support the implementation, maintenance and improvement of KONE safety management system (operating model) including worker, user and third party safety
• Cultivate an understanding and actively caring culture for safety. Act as a role model  
• Compile, maintain and improve safety documentation together with the unit safety team
• Actively participate in and contribute to unit safety committee and other safety forums
• Provide professional advice and support to the unit on matters affecting safety
• Plan, participate in and implement projects and activities to improve safety
• Work closely with customers and partners, including KONE subcontractors
• Support the development, review and exercise of crisis and emergency response plans   

Safety risk management

• Monitor and develop safety risk management processes, tools and practices
• Support safety related change management projects and initiatives

Safety assurance

• Collect, measure and ensure accuracy of leading and lagging safety data. Report performance  
• Monitor legal and business environment development in safety, identify and propose actions
• Perform safety audits regularly to verify compliance, identify uncontrolled risks and deviations
• Assist line management in safety audits/visits and support the audit process improvement
• Analyze and investigate incidents. Support the investigation process improvement
• Manage corrective and preventive actions for continual improvement

Safety promotion

• Develop own competences as a safety specialist in co-operation with the manager
• Support the training and development of others’ safety competences in the unit
• Proactively communicate safety information including investigation outcomes and best practices

Are you the one?

• Recognized professional qualification in safety.
• Registered as WSH Officer with MOM for at least 10 years preferred.
• Minimum 10 years working experience in the building construction industry preferred.
• Good knowledge of applicable safety regulations
• Safety management system, tools and certifications experience
• Problem solving, incident management, auditing and analysis skills
• People management, training and communication skills
• Strong people and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well in digital and mobile environment
• Project and change management skills
• Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in relevant field  
• MRT and LTA project experience preferred.

About the job

Reporting to the Marine Division Manager, you will be responsible for formulating and executing a sales strategy for the designated area of responsibility of Alfa Laval Products and Services in accordance with the assigned targets and local sales company/divisional strategy and targets.

You will also be responsible for leading, developing, and executing high-performing sales in line with the Alfa Laval culture. Inspire, support, and lead the local and regional sales team in charge of capital sales.

To be able to do value based selling in depth technical knowledge of applications and marine environment will be essential.

Key tasks:

• Define the business strategy and plan for assigned areas of responsibility according to division strategy, actions, and targets.
• Develop the business by driving relevant sales and business development activities to get customer loyalty and satisfaction using market analysis, pricing strategies, visits, and Seminars.
• Forecast sales figures and monitor progress against objectives and financial targets to identify problem areas to improve performance.
• Work proactively with structured sales and business development strategies to optimize the sales efficiency of the team.
• Lead the sales team, setting the direction and ensuring that they are performing according to the plan and the sales processes, with a special focus on lead to opportunity and opportunity to quote sub-processes.
• Develop, motivate, and coach direct reports to secure the development of relevant sales and product/application competencies.
• Take direct sales responsibility for assigned regions such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines.

What you know?

• Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in Mechanical or Marine Engineering or related.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in developing & managing marine new shipbuilding sales and at least 5 years of experience in technical sales of products & services in Marine industry.
• Well-versed with the development and execution of sales strategies and has also demonstrated a proven track record of over-achievement in your current or previous work capacity.
• Strong with data analytics, using offline and online channels to grow sales. 
• Proactive, service-minded, strong in customer care, and can take quick actions.
• Self-motivated team player with a strong customer focus. You should have the courage to take new initiatives and drive the implementation.
• Additionally, to be successful in this role, knowledge of relevant products e.g. separators, heat exchangers, freshwater generators, boilers, and/or inert gas systems is preferred.
