Purpose of the post

The Research Assistant (RA) will be responsible to, and collaborate with, the Principal Investigator and study team members to conduct various research projects in the field of Paediatric Allergy & Immunology to ensure the successful completion of study measures in a timely manner to achieve high quality and impactful deliverables. The RA’s principal role will be to perform clinical research-related procedures such as subject screening and recruitment, subject follow-ups, coordinating the collection and processing of biological samples, data collection, management and processes, data entry, cleaning and analysis.

A postdoctoral research fellow to conduct the following work activities:

· Compute humid-heat stress by integrating spatially averaged ambient meteorological data.

· Assess the spatial distribution of heat health risks, identify the climate adaptation capacity of vulnerable groups and neighbourhoods.

· Evaluate the social impacts of climate change (e.g., temperature, heat stress) on human health and mobility behaviour.

· Compute a novel humid-heat index by using multi-modal data, combining geostatistical, AI, and urban physical modelling, apportioned to the chosen unit of analysis.

1) In the first, Computational Fluid Dynamics simulations of ammonia and methanol engines will be performed, leading to a better understanding of the pollutant-generation processes. In addition to excelling in handling turbulent combustion theory Extensive, experience in combustion CFD is necessary.

2) In the second, systems modelling of alternative fuels and application to real-world data from ship operations will be performed, to compare possible decarbonisation scenarios in view of realistic ship operations. A thorough understanding of lifecycle analysis, energy system modelling, and Techno-economic analysis is needed. The ability to program in languages such as Python programming would be a plus.
