The successful candidate will work with Associate Professor John S. Ascher on environmental modeling of mosquito vectors and stinging wasps and bees and other insects of importance for public and environmental health under the CNRS@CREATE, SPACE project.

The main responsibilities of the position include:

Working with the appointment PI to validate as fit for use an existing specimen and community science dataset of insects of importance for public and environmental health, especially mosquitoes and stinging wasps. The appointee will then conduct species distribution modeling based on an existing pipeline already established for bee research and documented in a publication. The Global Centre for Asian Women’s Health (GloW) aims to build a global research platform for transdisciplinary endeavours to address major health concerns over a woman's lifespan and across generations. Through its main hub in Singapore, the Centre will engage in multi-disciplinary research to promote women’s health, including a series of diet and lifestyle intervention studies.

Purpose of the role

The project coordinator/manager will play a key role in dietary intervention studies by actively managing and coordinating diet and lifestyle intervention studies in GloW. Responsibilities include development, implementation and monitoring of meal plans, educating participants as needed, collecting dietary data, and performing administrative duties to ensure the studies’ success and compliance. The staff will work closely with Principal Investigators of intervention studies, collaborate closely with the research team, food service team, and other relevant stakeholders, as well as undertake other ad-hoc responsibilities assigned by the Centre’s Director as needed.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The staff will hold a few key responsibilities, including

(1) Intervention study coordinator:

• Recruit and interview study participants for the intervention study
• Implement methods for collecting dietary data, including detailed food intake records and compliance monitoring.
• Conduct regular assessments to evaluate participants' nutritional status and document any deviations from prescribed diets.

(2) Nutritional Intervention study monitoring:

• Monitor food/nutrient composition for meals developed for intervention study
• Collaborate with the research team to integrate nutritional components into the study design and ensure alignment with research objectives.

A Research fellow position is available in Dr. Anand Andiappan Laboratory at the Singapore Immunology Network (SIgN). The successful candidate will support the research work that focuses on studying inflammaeing in the context of skin aging in Asian populations.

The candidate will work on primary cells from cohorts and cell culture systems towards understanding functional immune responses in skin immune interactions and recapitulating them in in-vitro and ex-vivo systems. Additional work involves cellular and stimulation assays with flow cytometry and FACS analysis along with imaging by microscopy, and associated data analysis with statistical tested.
