Preliminary data of the lab has shown a differential adaptive immune response polarization between two alphaviruses and identified, via in vivo comparative multiOmic approaches, a set of candidate host factors potentially responsible for the phenotype. The project will entail a close characterization of these host factors and their role in the viral life cycle as well as the modulation of the immune response of small animal model to these viruses. In addition to multi-Omics approaches (including single-cell and spatial), protein-protein interactions, microscopy, functional genomics, viral reverse genetics and CRISPR Cas9 gene editing will be some of the tools used to investigate this viral hijacking and understand the host-viral interplay. Animals models available in the lab include mice and zebrafish. Downstream of characterization will aim to validate these targets in small preclinical models for subsequent drug discovery in the A*STAR ecosystem. Job Description

Genetic engineering of plants promises to provide sustainable solutions for food security and climate change mitigation. Current genetic engineering technologies using Agrobacterium, viruses and nanoparticles through syringe injection and biolistic bombardment suffer from limitations including narrow ranges of host species, low transformation efficiencies, strict restrictions on cargo types and sizes, tissue damage and unwanted transgene integration into plant genome. A major challenge to deliver exogenous material into plants is the cell wall barrier. The Tay lab will be hiring a research fellow to develop nanomaterials for plant genetic engineering, with the goal to produce plants with enhanced traits such as higher yield and weather-resistant.

JOB DESCRIPTION

NGTC (National GaN Technology Centre) in IME is looking for a talent to join its Technology Team for R&D developments. The qualified candidate has opportunities to participate in technical tasks related to RF GaN foundry for the applications up to 140 GHz. This includes the following area:

• Perform experiments to analyse and determine the root cause of failure in GaN devices (e.g. Transistors, Capacitors, Inductors, Resistors, and Diode) and circuits.
• Join the cross-functional teams on appropriate FMEA (Failure Mode Effects & Analysis) techniques to establish an understanding of the failure mechanisms of the devices.
• Drives device reliability/qualification activities, and data correlation studies.

JOB REQUIREMENT

About the Scientific Data Strategy Office at A*STAR

With data at the core of A*STAR's vision to be Singapore's Data, AI, and Hybrid Compute node for scientific research, the newly established Scientific Data Strategy Office (SDSO) is responsible for strategizing the delivery of Whole-of-A*STAR data products and services. Be part of an exciting team working on cutting-edge advanced packaging process technologies.
