The Signature Research Programme in Emerging Infectious Diseases (EID) aims to pioneer the development and discovery of new and more effective methods for the treatment, prevention and control of new and emerging pathogens. The key outcome of the research will be to understand viral pathogens infection cycle so as to develop treatments and control strategies.

The position is for a full-time Research Fellow who will be involved in a study investigating structural changes of dengue virus inside the cell. The National University of Singapore invites applications for Research Assistant in the Infectious Diseases Translational Research Program under the laboratory of A/P Gan Yunn Hwen, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. <The research project focuses on infection dynamics and mechanisms of hypervirulent Klebsiella pneumoniae>. Purpose of the post

The Research Assistant (RA) will be responsible to, and work closely with, the Principal Investigator and study team members to set up the human intestinal organoid culture and study intestinal infection models with relevant clinical bacterial isolates. The RA’s principal role will be to work in cell culture models, grow and maintain clinical bacterial isolates, perform confocal microscopy studies and to assist in working with animal models of gut colonization.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The Research Assistant will be accountable to the Principle Investigator (PI). The RA will be able to:

1. Oversee the general management of the project;
