Research Fellow (postdoc) positions in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at National University of Singapore (NUS).

The primary objectives of these two positions are to foster a profound design principle towards novel, cost-effective electrocatalysts and reactors for the efficient conversion of CO2/CO into liquid fuels. As a University of Applied Learning, SIT works closely with industry in our research pursuits. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT.

The Candidate will be working on dynamic modelling and simulation of the powertrain of a full electric tug vessel, mainly using MATLAB/Simulink. The simulation models will be used to investigate the steady state and transient behaviour of the ship’s electric propulsion system.

Key Responsibilities

• Development of dynamic models of the ship’s electrical propulsion system including energy storage systems.
• Investigate steady-state and transient behaviours of an all-electric ship’s electrical system in various operational scenarios.
• Carry out mission-specific electrical power consumption analysis
• Electrical propulsion and ESS design optimization.

The RO position is to support the research work of the team that focuses on studying the role of immune system in eczema and allergies. The candidate will work on primary cells from cohorts and cell culture systems towards understanding immune pathophysiology of disease. Additional work involves cellular and stimulation assays with flow cytometry and FACS analysis along with imaging by confocal microscopy, and associated data analysis with statistical tested.
