Job Summary: The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, and property. This role involves monitoring activities, enforcing policies, and responding to incidents as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Surveillance: Monitor security cameras and patrol premises to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.

Working Conditions:

· Monitor and manage activity at team member entrance

· Conduct regular searches of bags, etc. carried by team members and report discrepancies or violations immediately

· Control goods pass out procedure for any items purchased, loaned, or otherwise legitimately obtained

· Maintain system that monitors contractors working in the hotel in accordance with company health and safety policies

· Responsible for checking goods received outside of office hours

· Maintain system that records the issuance and receipt of departmental keys

· Operate, check and monitor the CCTV system for irregularities

· Patrol the hotel on a regular basis and are recorded

· Support evacuation of the hotel during emergency situations

· Monitor suspicious packages and be aware of bomb and terror threat procedures

· Ensure hotel facilities remain secure and locked when not in use

· Maintain the security log book and incident reports and to investigate all allegations of theft, criminal damage and other incidents

· Manage undesirable behaviour in a professional manner, intervening and defusing potential altercations

· Report any maintenance or hazard issues to the respective departments accordingly

Tasks & responsibilities

• Perform access control duties to prevent unauthorised access into premises.
• Conduct security screening and checks on staff and visitors, vehicles, cargoes and classified materials and authorised Info Comm Technology (ICT) devices (e.g. laptops, official storage media) being brought into or out of the premises
• Registration of all visitors to the premises.
• Ensure security of premises, by detecting and preventing break-in, burglary, vandalism or theft, sabotage against the premises including mechanical and electrical installations and fire detection. Report to the security supervisor of sighting or detection in accordance with SOP.
• Operate the security systems and the fire control system on the premises.
• Respond to security and fire safety incidents, and be conversant with the SOPs for handling emergencies and incidents.
• Perform escort duties for staff, visitors and vendors.
• Perform any security-related escort/driving duties where necessary and applicable
