As a key member of the mechanical engineering team, you will work on cross-functional team projects to develop and deliver new and innovative technical solutions for a robotic surgical system. Specifically, you will provide mechanical and mechanism engineering expertise in the R&D of surgical instruments. You will be working on designing mechanisms, structures and integrating actuators, motion components, and sensors to achieve innovative product functionalities.
The challenge for you is to successfully design and develop the surgical instrument in collaboration with other engineering teams, to achieve an efficient operation, reliable and safe product for clinical applications.
Requirements
· Bachelor or Master in Mechanical engineering.
· 5 - 8 years’ experience in the design & development of surgical instrument.
· Experience at least one cycle of product development.
· Able to communicate and write documents in Chinese (preferred).
· Familiar with regulatory and compliance requirements for the development of medical product.
· Strong technical capability in mechanism design and fabrication of precision and micro instruments.
· Strong technical capability to understand designs for mechanical structure and electro-mechanical assemblies.
· Good knowledge of various materials (metal and plastic), coating and manufacturing processes for precision parts.
· Proficient in 3D CAD modelling and simulation software like SolidWorks.
· Good knowledge and experience in GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis.
· Good knowledge and experience in performing FEA and motion analysis and technical review of mechanism design.
· Able to travel on short notice for short period.

Responsibilities
· Work with cross-functional teams on detailed mechanical design at system level, sub-systems, modules, and components level.
· Support and review critical technical development related to precision mechanical instruments.
· Resolve issues and improve product reliability.
· Ensure the design and functionalities meet user needs, able to meet cost target and quality specifications.
· Perform analytical studies, risk assessment, mechanical verification, and validation.
· Co-ordinate design and fabrication activities locally or with overseas partners.
· As a mentor to junior engineers and enhance their knowledge and skills.
Ensure proper documentation (Design History File) for mechanical design.
