ISCE2 is seeking a talented Research Engineer to be part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team to develop next generation green and sustainable technology for the biomanufacturing of fine and specialty chemicals. This position offers an opportunity to work bioprocess and bioengineering to develop

scalable technologies for applications in green chemicals biomanufacturing. The ideal candidate is passionate about engineering biology for science and sustainability, self-motivated, organised, detail-oriented, enjoy laboratory work, and has excellent communication and teamwork skills. The successful candidate may be responsible for but not limited to:

• Molecular biology with emphasis on molecular cloning and DNA assembly
• Perform protein expression in bacterial systems, including molecular cloning, fermentation in bioreactors/shake flasks, and protein separation and immunoassays
• Design, plan and execute experiments based on proposed project scope
• Analyze data, interpret results and troubleshoot
• Presentation at regular project meetings and summarize results in reports
• Presentation and review of relevant literature
• Assist in the preparation of scientific communications; publications, figures and posters
• Perform general lab housekeeping
• Other duties as assigned by the manager

Requirements:

• BSc or Masters degree with some laboratory experience, preferably in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering or Biological Engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience
• Experience with bioreactors will be advantageous.
• Preferred hands-on experience with molecular cloning and bioanalytical techniques, such as PCR, SDS-PAGE, LC-MS, Western blot, ELISA or other immunoassays, etc.
• Team player who is self-motivated and enjoy applied research work in a multidisciplinary environment

Job Responsibilities

1. Reporting to Plant manager, to lead a team of supervisors and technicians.
2. To support EPC and startup of equipment for entire plant operations.
3. To enforce process safety and equipment uptime.
4. To ensure proper housekeeping of data and documents.
5. To provide operating, troubleshooting and continuous improvement plan.
6. To optimise manufacturing parameters for yield improvements and equipment utilisation rate.
7. Be able to read and understand P&ID and documentation with good engineering practices and knowledge.

Job Requirements

1. Minimum diploma or degree in Engineering, preferably, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or equivalent
2. At least 2 to 3 years relevant experience in production plant with project management and equipment troubleshooting skill.
3. Knowledge in operating and maintenance of equipment in production plant.
4. Knowledge in automation control and mechanical servicing of equipment is advantageous.
5. Hands-on skill of mechanical operation of equipment in production plant with basic troubleshooting of equipment failure.
6. A team player, able to work under stress, fast-learner and is safety conscious.
7. Punctual and have positive work attitude.

The role is responsible for end to end Order to Cash process includes but not limited to manage customer accounts at an operational level, entering and processing assigned orders according to the procedures, dealing with and resolving questions and/or problems involving operational activities, proper coordination and communication with customers, internal functional teams and external service providers for the execution of the shipments and shipping documentations.

Key areas of responsibilities:

· Process external customer orders in system and/or via manual process

· Manage end to end order fulfilment process

· Process return orders, credit and debit orders (customer order, intercompany stock order) as needed

· Provides information and literature to internal/ external customers / service provider as needed

· Managing internal/external customer calls and inquiries

· Ensure customer information is accurately maintained in the ERP system

· Customer/vender master data maintenance

· Handling & monitoring for inbound/outbound, document, trade compliance with internal / external shake holder (Customer order, intercompany order and cross-board intra company order)

· Process free of charge or sample handling as needed

· Manage customer complaints via SFDC tool, April star, IQOS (entering, further follow up)

· Actively support Customer Service Organization objectives, strategies, projects, team admin etc.

· Rebate/Sales comm handling If need

· Maintain department ISO procedures support as needed

· Support any internal/external audit requirements related OTC as needed

· Drive continuous process improvement/KPI in the Order to Cash process

· Travel as needed

· Achieve metrics target - Complaints, Order management, etc.

· Prepare monthly sales reconciliation report and issuance of local tax invoices, Proforma Invoices, Commercial invoices, etc.

· Initiation/Coordination of VAT exemptions (including collection of exemption certificates from customers) at the interface of tax/finance departments

· Manage cash collection process , Handle receivable disputes at the interface of customers and internal stakeholders

· coordinate credit management process with customer related.

Qualification and Experience Requirements:

· Diploma with 5-10 years Customer Service or B2B experience

· Chemical industry experience is preferred

· In-depth ERP system knowledge, SAP preferred

· Data collection and problem solving

· Knowledge of delivery and payment terms

· Knowledge of warehouse processes, logistics and shipping, international trade

Job Description / Responsibilities

1. Develop and build competencies in process and design engineering for ISCE2

2. As part of ISCE2 management team, contribute to building a mission and values driven organization

3. Lead and deliver Low-carbon Technology Translation Testbed (LCT3) as a national infrastructure for local and international partnerships

• Understand LCT3 objectives, operating philosophy and how LCT3 fits into the wider ecosystem to support Singapore's Net-Zero ambitions.
• Develop a clear scope that the LCT3 initiative can plan and mobilise against and work with agency stakeholders to set KPIs for the long term sustenance of the facility
• Plan and manage budget for LCT3
• Lead multi-disciplinary and multi-organization LCT3 team
• Understand complexities of the low-carbon technology ecosystem in Singapore and play lead role in stakeholder management amongst industry partners, IHLs and government agencies
• Engage, attract and bring in these stakeholders to participate in LCT3
• Work with agency and academic partners to set up the governance, and support the running of LCT3s governance processes
• Work with all program workstreams to regularly review short & long-term plans
• Participates as part of the ISCE2 leadership team to inform and influence the mapping of R&D activities to a translational outcome aligned with Singapore's national goals.
• Ensure regular reporting processes are in place and provide visibility of program status, issues and manage any significant business risks.
• Represent LCT3 at LCER Steering Committee level and relevant boards, including the LCER Technical Committee
• Thought leadership and advocacy in the development of low carbon technologies.
• Represent A*STAR in an advisory role to other agencies and offices (eg S&TPPO, NRF, NCCS)

4. Guide and support process and design engineering efforts in ISCE2 in other areas, e.g. synthetic biology

Requirement

• Doctorate in Chemical or Process Engineering
• Good knowledge of industry and latest technology trends in sustainability
• Over 15 years of proven programme leadership/industry leadership experience in delivering translational engineering projects in the energy/ chemical/pharmaceutical industry. Demonstrated ability to work with procurement and different engineering disciplines, and familiarity with FEL (front end loading) engineering from basic design, basic and detailed engineering, mechanical completion to commissioning are pre-requisites. Experience in commissioning of commercial world-scale plants would be an advantage
• Familiarity with Singapore public sector stakeholder management
• Experienced in working with global management and technical stakeholders
• Experienced in strategic operations and project management
• Exceptional strategic thinking, with the ability to envision long-term goals and develop practical plans to achieve them.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels within and outside the organization
