As part of the IT Infrastructure team, you will be responsible for enterprise data backup protection and to optimized end-to-end Enterprise backup operations to support the digitalisation requirements of MPA. In addition, you will:

• Ensure that IT infrastructure projects are implemented within schedule, in accordance to the requirements, quality and security standards of the Authority and Whole of Government (WOG).

Your key duties and responsibilities will include:

• Perform daily monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of backup jobs on platforms (Windows, VMware, Nutanix and UNIX/Linux servers)
• Manage and support Storage systems, including patch management remediation, capacity planning, configuration management, provisioning and zoning of new servers on SAN switches.

Potential projects include using LinkedIn data to examine employment networks of sustainability-related employees and their impacts on governance outcomes, and migration networks of older Americans and potential drivers. The research assistant/engineer will meet with Alex regularly and report directly to Alex. Tasks of the research assistant/engineer include but not limited to reviewing literature; collecting, cleaning, and analyzing data sets; preparing research reports and funding applications; and fitting models using network analysis or big data analytics. They will also have the opportunity to work with a group of scholars from various disciplines, including but not limited to economics, sociology and engineering, and co-author on academic papers (depending on the contributions of the person hired for this position)
