Requirements:

• Minimum a Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Computer Science or equivalent
• Good, basic, technical insight into electrical, hydraulic and basic mechanical engineering fundamentals
• 1yr of relevant experience in Marine industry
• No experience can apply as on-the-job training is provided

• Basic understanding of programming and industrial control systems is a plus

• Designing and developing prototypes. Supervising the development of computer-aided design (CAD) project drawings from junior team members.Preparing documentation of critical analysis and providing suggestions for correcting errors. Collaborating with Project Managers for proper allocation and tracking of resources Advanced problem-solving and critical thinking skills.Ability to work under pressure

• Interprets specifications, drawings, plans and checks all steelwork shop drawings done by the structural detailer if in accordance to client’s construction drawing prior to submission

• Organises and directs the delivery of construction materials and establishing detailed programs and schedule of site activities

• Checks the construction drawings if feasible for erection on site and work closely with the structural detailer for any proposal if needed

• Records and monitors design changes and assess their cost impact for the project’s contract sum and coordinate with the Contract Department

• Liaises with the client’s Technical Manager for all engineering and technical matters focusing structural discipline

• Responsible for coordinating with the Project Site Engineer for any site related technical issues

• Monitors the fabrication progress and coordinate closely to Production Department to meet the required schedule and report it to the client

As Commissioning Engineer, you are to carry out commissioning and performance/acceptance testing of large generators, Power Management Systems and their associated sub systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Commission generators and associated control equipment up to 200MVA
• Conduct fault diagnosis and rectification of control equipment.
• Commission generator protection systems by way of either primary or secondary injection.
• Carry out electrical testing on high and low voltage windings in the field
• Interpret specifications and technical requirements of assignment brief and represent at customer technicalmeetings
• Train customers personnel,, subcontractors and other members of the service organization
• Ensure assignments are monitored and delivered in accordance with expenditure and project schedules
• Prepare method statements and risk Assessments in relation to client sites.
• Effectively communicate and keep updated customer representatives and brush project managers
• Carry out other reasonable l duties as directed from time to time by the Field Service Manger

Qualifications or Functional Experience

• Ideally Degree or Degree equivalent qualified in Electrical engineering with 5 years site experience
• At a minimum HNC and a full recognized apprenticeship in an electrical discipline with 5 years site experience
• High level knowledge of electrical power generation and distribution systems which should include micro processor systems
• Must be able to interpret Engineering drawings relevant to given assignments.
• Should ideally be in possession of certification to prove HV competance
• Ideally should have a sound knowledge of health and Safety relevant to on site working and have intimate knowledge of safe systems of work in an HV environment.
• Should either possess or be prepared to undergo training for offshore working

Responsibilities:

• Prepares key project documentation in executing the complete Electrical engineering scope of work as per the project requirements in meeting customer’s expectations
• Carries out electrical drawings and design work and procurement engineering activities (i.e. technical specifications, equipment datasheets, MTO, technical bid evaluation, etc.)
• Prepares design documents and data related electrical system design
• Plans, checks, and directs the work of engineers, assistant engineers and drafting specialists as well as monitoring the progress
• Reviews and consolidate MTO, weight information, and equipment list provided by engineering subcontractor
• Participates in project meeting/technical meeting/3D model review/workshop, attends to basic technical queries and issues related to Electrical design and review the deliverables (i.e. drawings, VCD, third party study report, workshop report, etc.)
• Oversees manpower planning and allocation within the in-charged workgroup base on the team member’s competency and work scope required
• Monitors and controls the material cost and manhours to be within limit for the in-charged scope of work, and advocate cost & manhours budget awareness among reporting team members
• Conducts internal audit regularly after qualified to ensure engineering design workflow is implemented with compliance and quality
• Performs any other duties as assigned by superior(s) from time to time

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, or related engineering disciplines
• 6 years of working experience in planning, designing and construction of Electrical system in the oil and gas industry
• Experience in electrical power generation and distribution systems for topsides and marine vessels for new building and conversion
• Excellent proficiency in English (written and spoken)
