Fabrica AI is reinventing how robots are developed. Currently novel robots take 5-20 years. We are building a design automation platform to bring it down to a month, and have already demonstrated significant progress by developing tile grouting robots in record time. Robotics simulation and reinforcement learning has been advancing a lot making it 1000x cheaper to train robots compared to 5 years ago, and as Jensen Huang said at Nvidia GTC 2024, "the ChatGPT moment for robotics may be just around the corner." A couple other companies are building on the same paradigm shift but we are the only ones using it to automate hardware design, not just software.

Building robots and a design automation platform together brings great synergy - the platform helps us develop robots faster than anyone else and the robots allow us to gather data and do experiments at scale. Data gathering can be done through partnerships with other robotics companies, but doing experiments is crucial for grounding the platform in reality and ensuring its usefulness. The grouting robots are already deploying daily at construction sites and bringing value to clients. We are currently negotiating sales worth around 500k USD. With manufacturing cost multiple times lower than companies using a traditional robotic arm, our robots have an ROI in weeks. Our robot is also small and simple to use, operating from a single button without the need to upload floorplans or do any complex setup. Soon we would be expanding into other simple and valuable robots for the construction industry.

Job Summary:

The Sales Engineer will drive revenue growth by identifying business opportunities, providing technical expertise, and delivering tailored renewable energy solutions involving Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The role requires a deep understanding of renewable energy systems, a proactive approach to client management, and the ability to bridge technical and commercial aspects of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sales and Business Development:

• Develop and execute sales strategies to promote Solar PV and BESS solutions in target markets.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities for commercial and industrial clients, including greenfield projects, retrofits, and energy storage enhancements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and other key stakeholders in the renewable energy sector.

2. Technical Consultation:

• Provide technical guidance on system design, feasibility assessments, and performance optimization for Solar PV and BESS solutions.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to prepare customized proposals and solutions that meet client requirements and regulatory standards.
• Conduct site assessments, technical evaluations, and ROI analyses for proposed projects.

3. Project Support:

• Assist in project lifecycle management, including system configuration, cost estimation, and technical documentation.
• Ensure smooth handover of projects to the execution team, maintaining a focus on client satisfaction.

4. Market and Industry Engagement:

• Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and regulations in the renewable energy and energy storage markets.
• Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and technical forums to enhance brand visibility and network with industry leaders.

5. Proposal Development and Negotiation:

• Prepare and deliver high-quality technical and commercial proposals, ensuring alignment with client needs and budgetary constraints.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to achieve mutually beneficial agreements.

6. After-Sales Support:

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for deployed systems, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction.
• Facilitate warranty claims and maintenance agreements for Solar PV and BESS installations.

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, business development, or technical roles in the Solar PV or Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) industry.
• Proven track record in successfully securing and managing renewable energy projects.
• Strong knowledge of renewable energy systems, power electronics, and energy storage technologies.
• Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and certifications (e.g., IEC, UL, ISO, etc.).

Skills and Competencies:

• Technical Expertise: In-depth understanding of Solar PV and BESS components, system integration, and grid interconnection requirements.
• Sales Acumen: Ability to build rapport with clients, close deals, and meet sales targets.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to address client challenges effectively.
• Project Management: Proficiency in planning, coordinating, and delivering projects on time and within budget.
• Proficiency in Tools: Familiarity with design tools (e.g., PVsyst, AutoCAD), CRM software, and power system analysis tools.

Preferred Attributes:

• Experience working in Southeast Asia or other emerging markets.
• Knowledge of financial modeling for renewable energy projects, including PPA structures and LCOE calculations.
• Certifications in renewable energy systems (e.g., NABCEP, GSES) are an added advantage.

KPIs and Performance Metrics:

• Achieving quarterly and annual sales targets for Solar PV and BESS solutions.
• Client acquisition and retention rates.
• Quality and timeliness of technical proposals and project handovers.
• Customer satisfaction scores from deployed projects.

• Act as single point of contact for Customer for all facilities matters, including but

not limited to security, cooling, power, hardware movements, cleanness, etc.

• Support & co-ordinate hardware installations and cabling as per Customer requests.
• Manage and coordinate vendor support services, including supervision of vendors on installation, upgrading, maintenance, repair, and delivery of server hardware and software.
• Co-ordinate with and escort third party vendors visiting Customers’ data centre and server rooms.
• Install, configure, Monitor of UPS.
• Co-ordinate with remote site support engineer for all server room related activities.
• Perform regular data centre inspection. Report any alert to concerned party.
• Maintain inventory of Customer data centre and server rooms equipment Record including customer’s remote sites and audit all the changes.
• Manage Customer’s cloud based data centre and resources, including inventory,
• changes, budget, etc.
• Any other activity related to data centre operations.
• The Support Services shall meet KPI target set by Customer.
• The DC OSE should carry and be reachable 24x7 via on duty mobile phone (to be provided by Customer

• Prepare quotation, budget plan and submission to have approval from project engineer or manager.
• Prepare method of statement, lifting plan and work schedule to provide safety personnel to prepare risk assessment.
• Prepare MTO and raise MR for all materials required for the project.
• Responsible for equipment installation, structure installation, piping erection operations and pipe support installation in accordance with schedule, procedures, specifications, priorities and availability of construction drawings.
• Handling all the technical queries and investigating all the work related problems, including the drawing of field sketches when necessary.
• Review of Project specification, ISO drawings and P&ID.
• Responsible for counter checking by ISO drawings, P&ID and GA drawings for the correct location, orientation, alignment and plumpness.
• Carrying out final P&ID check of installed piping systems in the module. Preparation of “AS BUILT” drawings.
• Responsible for carrying out mechanical clearance, conducting hydro and pneumatic tests, fulfilling commissioning and Pre-Commissioning requirements for the project.
• Responsible for line checking after hydro testing or pneumatic testing to complete the post punch list prior to sign-off the test packages before signing the completion of piping / mechanical.
• Ensure that all punch list items are resolved; client handover is satisfactorily concluded and that there is no prolongation of project.
• Take prompt corrective and preventive action to remove any quality issue, any unsafe elements and unhealthy conditions at site.
• Sales Cycle Management: Conduct the full sales cycle, including lead generation, follow-up, service delivery, and transaction closure.
