Job Description

AI Singapore (AISG) is a national AI programme launched by the National Research Foundation (NRF) to anchor deep national capabilities in Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The programme office is hosted by the National University of Singapore (NUS) and brings together all Singapore-based research institutions and the vibrant ecosystem of AI start-ups and companies developing AI products to perform use-inspired research, grow the knowledge, create the tools, and develop the talent to power Singapore's AI efforts.

The candidate will join a team of AI scientists, apprentices, data and software engineers. With the team, he or she will experiment and build AI solutions that can help Singapore companies improve their businesses using AI. A more senior candidate is expected to provide technical leadership, engage stakeholders, mentor and guide junior engineers in the projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Develop new and re-iterate on existing software and system applications using software engineering best practices and AI technologies
2. Perform the necessary data preparation and analysis, AI modelling, coding, testing, validation and deployment to ensure reliable and scalable AI solution
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams within AI Products to design and resolve issues
4. Utilise problem-solving skills to address and resolve user issues, with a focus on empathy
5. Maintain code repository and documentation standards
6. Contribute to community engagement activities such as sharing via technical session meet-ups and article write-ups, and participating in discussion forums
7. Self-learn and experiment with new frameworks and technologies when necessary

Qualifications

1. Degree in computer science, machine learning, AI, and other relevant equivalent quantitative fields
2. Experience in writing production level code in Python and/or C++
3. Strong background in other programming languages, especially in web application development, will be advantageous
4. Experience in AI/Machine learning frameworks such as Tensorflow and Pytorch
5. Experience in using deployment tools such as Docker
6. Previous experience in deployment on cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) and/or edge devices will be advantageous
7. Previous working experience in Large Language Models will be advantageous
8. Previous working experience with Agile methodologies will be advantageous
9. Data story-telling, information visualisation/UX and technical writing skills

Responsibilities:

• Conduct experiments and testing as necessary to validate the design and provide a written report.
• Enhance existing products and design for the improvement of performance and costs effectiveness.
• Handle project planning to determine the crucial path and offer assistance to reduce risks.
• Create designs for power supply and power systems products in accordance with the company standards & safety in a timely manner to fulfill product specifications.
• Conducts product design reviews to ensure adherence with company procedures, safety standards, agency requirements and engineering principles.
• Ensuring the product fulfills the specifications before delivering to both internal and external customer by verifying and validating.
• Prepare documentation of the Bill of materials and creating, debugging prototype samples and breadboards.
• Providing technical support on design related matters and guiding the technician & engineers in evaluations and design.
• Travelling if necessary.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
• At least 9-11 years of experience in Power Supply Electronics Design.
• Knowledgeable with key components, Flyback, resonant convertors, and control loops.
• Good knowledge of the requirements and test for the current safety standards.
• Previous experience in DC-to-DC high voltage and high-power design.
• Proficiency with PCB Design using PADS/Altium is an ad advantage.

Main Responsibilities:

• Responsible for direct sale of vacuum pumps, systems, parts and services in Singapore. Be accountable for both individual and Company’s sales target to be determined by the General Manager.
• Lead the sales team into breaking new grounds and penetrate the key market segments as in; Food process, Hospital, Petrochemical, Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Electronics, Semiconductor etc.
• Undertake the leadership role among sales staffs towards developing new and key accounts and strive towards achieving the Key Process Indicators (KPI), sales goals and objectives.
• Assist the Sales Manager and be responsible for the training and development of inside and outside sales staffs.
• Responsible for briefing the sales team to engage the customers on a day-to-day basis to initiate, respond and coordinate inquiries and selling activities.
• Assist the Sales Manager in quarterly forecasting and meeting monthly and yearly “Sales turnover” target
• Assist the General Manager in compiling sales data and information; track and report selling effort
• Be accountable for the various selling activities; play a key role in the evaluation and decision making process arising from the Sales Funnel Report (SFR).
• Conduct competitive analysis and identify market price for various S.E. Asian countries.
• Handle sales inquiries and generate proposal to customers for sale of pumps and spare parts.
• Initiate the creation of sales leads, follow up on sales opportunities and take ownership to follow up on quotations.
• Working closely with customers to find application possibilities and propose suitable technical solutions.
• Conduct competitive analysis and identify market price for various customers and market segments in Singapore.
• Conduct product and application training.

Requirements:

• Diploma or ITE graduate in Engineering or any Engineering discipline is required.
• 1-2 years of selling experience in industrial products within the Electronic, Semiconductor, Biomedical, Oil & Gas, Chemical, and Pharmaceutical segment.
• Knowledge of pumps and field experiences can be an advantage but not mandatory.
