Position Summary
Clime Capital is seeking an Investment Analyst to join its Singapore-based, regionally-focused investment execution team. Their responsibilities will include establishing and leading deal flow, managing deal progress from inception to exit against agreed timelines, and promoting and representing Clime Capital.
The Investment Analyst will work closely with Clime Capital’s senior management and investment team, including in-country team members, to identify, screen, and invest in high-impact businesses driving the low carbon transition in Southeast Asia.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Investment due diligence and transaction execution:
o Support screening potential clean energy investment opportunities that are appropriate for the Investment Guidelines.
o Support information collection and synthesis during initial due diligence.
o Support procurement and management of due diligence contractors.
o Collect required data/ information to support due diligence and manage the data room.
o Support drafting of preliminary and final approval memoranda for the Investment Committee.
o Analyze financial statements and summarize key risk factors/areas to evaluate in due diligence.
o Conceptualize key business value drivers and risk factors to evaluate in due diligence.
o Build and maintain internal financial models for pipeline and portfolio companies independently with limited oversight.
o Conduct comparable company and comparable transaction analysis (financials and multiples analysis) for each pipeline and portfolio company.
- Investment management, monitoring, and reporting:
o Provide post-investment support with Clime Capital Country Managers and Portfolio Management team, including:
§ Support quarterly valuation review.
§ Support investment commitment and disbursement procedures.
§ Support initiatives to improve business processes, strengthen management talent, achieve successful exits, etc.
§ Maintain up-to-date information in archives and portfolio management systems.
o Support ongoing portfolio company reporting as required.
- Market research and analysis:
o Monitor key developments in the clean energy space in Southeast Asia.
o Maintain and update our database of companies in our core sub-sectors.
o Monitor policy and regulatory changes that impact the fund-level investment strategy in Vietnam, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
o Provide regular internal updates on market developments.
Qualifications
· 1-3 years of investment experience in either private equity/venture capital, management consulting, or investment banking
· Competency to create and manage valuation models based on a logical approach to key economic drivers of early-stage ventures
· Proven analytical, investment analysis, structuring, and financial modelling skills
· Ability to write in a clear, succinct, and engaging manner, argue compellingly, and present data intelligently
· Attention to detail
· Collaborative approach with management and team members
· Strong verbal and written communication skills; articulate and confident in presenting ideas in a group setting
· Team player with excellent interpersonal and networking skills with proven ability to develop and maintain effective business relationships
· Ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously and drive to take ownership of processes and take tasks to completion
· Energy sector and climate change experience would be an advantage: understanding of market, regulatory, and economic drivers that impact the low carbon transition in Southeast Asia
· Proficiency in regional languages would be an advantage (e.g., Vietnamese, Bahasa, Tagalog)
· Desire and comfort to join and contribute to a small, high-calibre team by supporting investment execution
· Demonstrated interest in the intersection of private markets and climate impact
· Naturally curious and inquisitive
