As a Risk Consultant, you will play a role in enhancing and implementing Strategic Risk Management and Governance’s (SRMG) vision and strategic mandate. With SRMG’s recent expansion of its mandate, the team will be looking to further increase the depth of its activities. The role will comprise of the design and delivery of its business-as-usual activities and as well as contributing to its change agenda.
Responsibility
- Support and drive the execution and strengthening of SRMG’s vision in enhancing its approach, for assessing innovative ways to seek simplification of its processes and workflows, stakeholder management and communications.
- Support and drive some of the business-as-usual and change related activities spanning across Framework and Policy Management, Risk Appetite and Risk Identification Portfolio and analysis.
- Support programme management activities for key change related activities in the automation of risk management workflows and digitisations of policies and standards.
- Actively participate with other members of the team, in the development, implementation and reviewing of the risk management framework.
- Support in the review and challenge pf policies to ensure they address critical risks, are principle based, can be tested for effectiveness, empower decision making and have written with the end user in mind.
- Support risk profile analysis relative to appetite, in particular, strive to present a holistic view of the risk profile and significant trends by "joining the dots" between reported metrics, business strategy and group resources.
- Analyse existing operational processes and apply creativity to complex situations, as needed.
- Support identification of interdependent elements and provide recommendations, where needed, for combining or connecting initiatives to achieve greater effectiveness and efficiency.
Skills
- Subject matter expertise, ability to review effectiveness of risk frameworks and risk management processes, with in-depth knowledge and understanding of Risk Function fundamentals.
- Exposure and experience in Risk platform and tools and have worked with Technology in driving innovation and re-engineering.
- Proven track record in terms of evaluating process performance across key metrics and envisioning ways to simplify / reengineer the process to create significant improvement across all key variables.
- Strong track record of influencing and engaging in a consultative mode with various senior stakeholders across business, operations, technology, and compliance to define the strategic scope, a problem-solving approach and engage a team that effectively will lead the simplification / reengineering process to achieve the envisioned results.
- Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to study and familiarise Group frameworks, policies, and standards to provide optimal business solutions.
- Vast experience in drafting and presenting materials to stakeholders.
Qualifications/Experience
- 10 to 15+ years qualifications and experience in Risk Management, Transformations and Change
- Experience of Risk, Change, Transformation or Regulatory Remediation programmes within Risk large FS firms
