Purpose of the Job

Responsible for warranty support, additional projects and services. Collaborates with sales, service, engineering, and technical support to ensure projects are completed successfully. To perform commissioning activities and accept electrical systems into service completing pre and post checks, developing test schedules and Quality Control records for container handling equipment. Testing and tuning of equipment, load shedding and network control systems. Conduct initial drive runs. Plan stepwise commissioning details according to the overall procedure and instruct commissioning crews and or subcontractor for the necessary action.

Job Content and Context

1. Implementation of tasks assigned by Project Manager

2. Coordinates closely with Project Manager by communicating project status and success metrics.

3. Maintain follow up with the customer to provide additional information or to resolve problems.

4. Assist with the commissioning of new equipment into service. Ensure that equipment is operating according to specifications.

5. Obtain and adhere to testing and commissioning plan for container handling equipment.

6. Obtain commissioning plans to integrate and verify Drive, PLC and control system and sub-systems in accordance with compliance matrices.

7. Adhere to accepted Drive and PLC, automation system standards design. Seek operational data and operations-based feedback, provide comprehensive and useful documentation and assures the availability of adequate spares for efficient warranty support.

8. Supervising the technicians to carry out the job according to the work procedure.

9. Train and mentor technicians in the Drive and PLC, automation and control system to assure systems and equipment perform to expectations.

10. Repair and resets/adjustments are carried out, mindful of effects on, or unnecessary loss of, other equipment.

11. Diagnoses Drive and PLC, control system fault at 24 hours on-call basis.

12. Provide and maintain detailed Electrical, Drive and PLC, control system, automation system documentation on new design and modifications including engineering change notices to assure documentation is available when needed.

13. Occupational Health and Safety standards, statutory requirements, relevant codes of practice, manufacturers’ specifications, environmental requirements and enterprise procedures are identified and monitored throughout the work procedure.

Performance Standards

1. Targets set by the Project Manager are achieved within the timescales agreed.

2. Applies knowledge and skills when Establishing plans, Describing consequences and completing tasks, Identifying improvements, Applying safety precautions relevant to the task, Assessing operational capability of equipment used and work processes selected

3. Follows ZPMC and regulatory requirements in all commissioning, testing, diagnostic and repair operations

4. Shows evidence of application of relevant workplace procedures including: Job procedures and work instructions, Relevant guidelines relating to the use of equipment, Quality assurance procedures / policy, Reporting of unsafe or damaged equipment

5. Takes action promptly- accidents and incidents reported following ZPMC procedures

6. Completes work systematically with attention to detail and without damage of goods, equipment or personnel

7. Is capable of adapting to differing work conditions and circumstances (E.g. Climatic, light or dark, etc.)

Candidate Profile

Work History

Must have:

1. Good to have at least 3 years’ experience in industrial equipment electrical engineering field.

2. Experience in project implementation in particularly industrial equipment.

3. Experience in after sales for industrial equipment.

4. Hands on experience in Drive and PLC, control system, automation system modification and upgrading.

5. Repair and maintenance on industrial equipment

Skills/Qualifications/Training

Must have:

1. Good to have Degree/Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with more than 3 years’ experience, or Certificate with more than 5 years’ experience in related field. However fresh graduates are welcome.

2. Knowledge of workplace OH&S in relation to equipment, material, and personal safety requirements

3. Drive and PLC system for Siemens, Yaskawa, and Fuji

4. Types and layout of service/repair manuals and or diagrams/schematics (hard copy and electronic)

5. Testing and fault identification procedures

6. Communicating effectively with others

7. Accurately interpreting inspection results

8. Team player, confident and pro-active

9. Articulate and focused

10. Enthusiastic and flexible

11. Excellent written and oral communication skills

12. Must be able to work at elevated heights

Job Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Manager and other team members to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Attend client meetings and ensure that project timelines are on track (e.g., setting agendas, taking notes, following up on action items)
• Identify potential project risks and collaborate with other team members in developing contingency plans to mitigate them
• Collaborate with the development team to ensure that project requirements are being met and that any issues are addressed in a timely manner
• Communicate project status updates to clients and team members
• Being proactive in ensuring client requests are attended to
• Establish and offer competitive prices to customers.
• Negotiate purchase pricing with suppliers for competitive advantage.

Job Requirements:

• Must possess a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Chemical engineering / Chemistry / Material Science
• At least 1 year of working experience in relevant fields
• IT savvy and knowledge in MS Office and SAP

Job description

• Work closely with manufacturers and Engineers to implement and service audio visual and video conferencing solutions in accordance to company’s standards and best practices to meet customer’s requirements
• System configuration, Testing & Commissioning of Integrated Audio Visual and Videoconferencing solution.
• Conduct end user trainings to end users on how to use the Solution(s) implemented.
• Work closely with in house AV Designers and Engineers from different manufactures like Samsung, BOSE, Crestron, Extron, Poly, Logitech, etc to implement full integrated solutions for venues like meeting room, lecture room, experience centre, command centre, auditorium, ballroom, etc
• Study the schematic drawings to understand the technical & functional requirements to implement each solution
• Assist in after sales services
