Duties of Laboratory Technician:

• Assist in routine lab tasks such as paint preparation, panel setup, and airless spray applications.
• Conduct sampling, testing, and analysis for paint products.
• Support chemists in development projects, including managing stock levels for panels, raw materials, and lab supplies.
• Participate in trial applications and inspections outside the lab under supervision.
• Handle non-chemical waste disposal and maintain a safe work environment by following ISO, safety, and environmental standards.
• Communicate progress or delays effectively with the line manager.
• Ensure workplace safety, especially in handling chemicals, and follow preventive measures to reduce risks.

Responsibilities:

1). Daily Plant Operations

• Monitor and control plant processes via the Distributed Control System (DCS), promptly notifying the shift supervisor of any abnormal alarm messages to ensure a consistent supply of quality products.
• Troubleshoot plant processes during operational disruptions.
• Execute daily tasks according to the monthly activity checklist.
• Load and unload raw materials and products in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to maintain an uninterrupted supply chain.

2. Safety, Quality Assurance, and Training

• Strive for zero accidents and incidents by reporting near misses and participating in monthly ASU safety meetings.
• Engage in the ISO 9001 implementation process by managing documentation controls and addressing auditor inquiries to avoid penalties.
• Complete LMS training as required.

Requirements:

• Diploma in Chemical Engineering or equivalent engineering field.
• Related working experience in chemical process plant will be advantageous
• Basic equipment and distributed control system knowledge in the oil and gas industry will be an added advantage.
