• Provide Level 2 support for AIX operating systems and related technologies, ensuring system stability and performance.
• Administer AIX servers, including installation, configuration, updates, and troubleshooting.
• Manage virtualization technologies such as PowerVM, SR-IOV, SEA, and VIOS.
• Implement and maintain high availability solutions using HACMP and monitor system performance.
• Ensure security compliance by applying best practices, patches, and conducting audits.

• Proven experience with IBM AIX system administration and virtualization (PowerVM, VIOS, LPARs).
• Strong knowledge of high availability (HACMP) and security measures for AIX systems.
• Familiarity with IBM Spectrum Scale (GPFS) and performance tuning tools.
• Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with client teams.

What will you do?

The Team aims to spearhead the digital transformation of government. The GCC (Government Commercial Cloud) platform provides a federated agency hosting and infrastructure through modern cloud architecture implementation and the modernising of Government applications through adoption of agile development practices.

The Team is seeking independent and motivated Solution Engineer who has experience in both small and big scale cloud-based projects, to support agencies and the GCC product team to create value in the GCC platform. This role will work closely with the agency users, GCC product and partnering teams, using a collaborative approach with strong technical understanding, to assist and ensure that the GCC platform continues to add value to agencies.

• Work directly with GCC engineering team, product team and various key stakeholders.
• Support development of proof-of-concepts for GCC platform in concert with product team and various stakeholders.
• Take ownership of end-to-end solutions provided by teams across the organisation.
• Provide system troubleshooting and problem solving across platform and application domains, expect to participate in on-call escalations to troubleshoot customer facing issues.
• Assist in the migration activities for GCC platforms.

What are we looking for?

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electronics Engineering, Information Technology or related disciplines.
• User-centric mindset. Be able to represent users’ viewpoints on GCC in order to drive changes & innovations to meet their needs.
• 5 years of experience working as a Business Analyst and/or Software Architect role
• Passion for automation, standardization and best practices.
• Solid hands-on experience in designing, building, deploying and securing of highly available web application in cloud platform such as AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with DevOps tools such as Gitlab or Azure DevOps
• Experience with back-end technologies such as Node.js, Python, or Go
• Good understanding of network components such as load balancers, firewalls, VPNs, and DNS.
• Good understanding of DevOps principles and practices, knowledge in DevSecOps will be an added advantage.
• Self-motivated with good communication skills.
• Experience in an Agile development environment focusing on rapid, quality delivery.
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and meticulousness in handling figures and processes in a high-agility environment.

Preference:

• Experience with managing cloud infrastructure and services on AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, preferred.

• Lead projects from a hands-on perspective, managing all physical aspects from the detection reader unit;

• Translate client requirements into detailed detection specifications;

• Design experiments based on given specifications;

• Conduct hands-on measurements, perform analysis and utilise simulations;

• Prepare comprehensive reports summarising project findings, analysis and recommendations

Client Delivery Responsibilities:

• Implement SMX technology at Clients’ facilities;

• Adjust readers (both software and hardware) to align with application requirements;

• Provide initial and periodic training to relevant client employees;

• Deliver technical support to address any issues or concerns;

• Ensure proper maintenance of readers;

• Organise and manage local RSO and any relevant subcontractors;

• Responsible for the development and execute the commercialisation of the tech application from POC to Industrial Roll-out for the SMX detection unit;

• Develop integrated project plans for assigned project(s) with other SMX colleagues from the Marker, Reader and Blockchain teams;

• To study and understand material(s) characteristics & processing methods/systems across various industries/companies;

• Be involved in partaking in all aspects of the projects, from R&D, process engineering, scale up to production, regulatory and quality requirements;

• Responsible for planning, executing and documenting all R&D experiments and tests;

• Co-ordinating experimental activities with subcontractors and clients;

• Writing professional documents for clients, subcontractors and stakeholders;

• Preparing demonstrations to showcase tech applications on demand to stakeholders and potential clients;

• Development of quick POC to showcase solutions for concept demos;

• And any other task or duty which SMX may request.
