Responsibilities

Creative Arts and Design Technician

The Creative Arts and Design Technician supports teaching staff and students in the areas of Creative Arts, Design, Service, Sustainability, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) within the GESS BeyondClassrooms program. This role involves building positive partnerships that enhance teaching and learning, as well as assisting with activities and events. Key responsibilities and accountabilities

General duties

· Organise materials and prepare resources for the, BeyondClassrooms programs, including but not limited to, service and sustainability, creative arts, design, innovation and STEM teams.

Design department

· Maintain machinery, power tools and other equipment and ensure they are in always in safe working order.

· Ensure extraction systems are regularly checked and cleared.

· Liaise with the First Aid team to ensure first aid boxes are stocked.

· Liaise with the facilities team for support on repairs, maintenance and installation support.

· Undertake other adhoc Design tasks as assigned, such as construction of teaching aids, enhancing the layout and teaching spaces and displays.

Creative Arts department

· Assist with maintaining a well organised Visual Arts storerooms and the control of equipment care, working condition and cleanliness.

· Maintain, service and organise print requests of posters using large format printer and software.

· Assist with repairs and maintenance of equipment for Visual Art, Theatre and Music department.

· Assist with material preparation, presentation and gallery exhibition for the Visual Art, Theatre and Music department.

· Assist with school music and theatre production stage set design, construction and installation.

Innovation and STEM teams

· Assist with material preparation, construction and exhibition for, service and sustainability, STEM and Innovation events.

Additional responsibilities

About The Role

The incumbent will be working in the Diphenyl Carbonate (DPC-500 tons/annum) Demo unit at Shell Jurong Island.

DPC is an intermediate used in the production of polycarbonate, and the Shell process offers firm improvements over competing processes.

Poly Carbonate development unit, unique downscaled unit, it will run on DPC produced from concurrent operation of our existing DPC demo unit and operate the combined DPC/PC Development Unit until 2027.

The DPC-technology fits well with the strategy of the Chemicals COB in that it positions Shell as a technology leader, and it fits with the current Shell portfolio (the phenol and EO/EG businesses).

Principal Accountabilities

The PC Dev Process Technician is a member of the Shift Team assisting the Production Team Leader in managing a team of 4 Shift Technicians. He/she is responsible for the safe, reliable and efficient operation of one of DPC and PC Demo plants in Shell Jurong Island within the shift period.

Specific responsibilities and activities include: -

• Operating process units within the Production Unit in accordance with the Production Plan and Daily Operating Procedures, Standing Instructions, and site HSSE procedures.

• Ability to effectively and efficiently manage multiple tasks

Knowledge and Experience:

• Knowledge of GxP guidance, or willingness for education in GxP regulations
• Basic understanding of the drug development and regulatory framework
• Knowledge of warehouse management system and/or inventory system
• Experience in a warehouse support (Packaging and labeling experience in pharmaceutical or biological industry is preferred)

Education:

• High School or Vocational degree or relevant work experience

- Perform the installation and commissioning of field electrical equipment.

- Maintenance, troubleshoot and rectify the safe guarding system.

- Part of plant shutdown and turnaround activities.

- Diagnose and rectify the panel wiring, plant lighting and other electrical circuits.

- Teminating cables and requirement for cable glanding, laying and jointing.

- Be able to prepare and submit inspection test plan.

- Be able to obtain permit-to-work and required o meet all requirements in the PTW system.

- Station on-site and perform daily inspection and preventive maintenance works in Mechanical and Electrical Systems according to Scheduled Maintenance

- Attend to feedback, Breakdown and customer service requests

- Attend to Fault-Calls and carry out rectification of Faults within specified time and budget

- Supervise and coordinate with contractors and vendors on works according to scheduled maintenance, repair, shut-down and overhaul works

- Assist Engineer/Manager to update records of Mechanical and Electrical system servicing reports and monitor the performance of the systems and equipment

- Station on-site and perform daily inspection and preventive maintenance works in Mechanical and Electrical Systems according to Scheduled Maintenance

- Attend to feedback, Breakdown and customer service requests

• Responsible for testing construction materials at the Engineering Materials Laboratory, performing physical testing on construction materials such as cement, sand & aggregate, and preparing or verifying test reports.
• Handling samples from clients.
• Preparation of data and input of report for materials testing
• Assist the project manager work in relation to the works in Civil Engineering field
• Work closely with engineers and clients and representatives of SAC to ensure proper handling of equipment in compliance with the requirements of ISO/EC 17025

Minimum Education Requirement:

• SPM for Malaysian
• Certificate or Diploma in a relevant technical
