JOB SUMMARY

Duties include generating PCR and engineering drawing and exploring alternate solution to solve resource or production constrain. He is also responsible to plan, organize and manage assigned project activities. This requires direct interaction with customer, vendors and functional departments to monitor and ascertaining all jobs are progressing within schedule and meeting deadline.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

• Understand the full requirements of all manufacturing and improvement project. Follow up on the kick start, execution, monitoring and work closely with related personnel to resolve issues until the completion of the project.
• Perform technical review on sales order and work closely with the sales department or customer to clarify all technical specifications and job requirements on the sales order.
• Generate PCR and manufacturing process plan.
• Generate engineering drawings and perform drafting.
• Support Asst. Engineering Manager on the job costing.
• Continuously explore for new manufacturing method or new external providers to support the production.
• Work closely with the Production Supervisor to resolve any production issue.
• Support the procurement department to deal with external providers on all technical issues.
• Understand and be aware of the impact of each activity to the company, its environment and minimize any detrimental results.
• Follow safe work practices and procedures.
• Ensure company and QHSE policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
• Participate/ attend all functions, activities and meeting organized by the company.
• Perform other assignment and duties as and when required.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Ensure on time issuance of PCR and drawings and correctness.
• Ensure all projects are on schedule and completed on time.
• Work with the team to achieve QHSE objectives.
• Maintain good housekeeping at all times.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

• Degree preferably in Manufacturing/ Mechanical Engineering discipline or equivalent.
• Preferably 2 years of relevant experience in the metal machining or oil and gas industries.

Key Responsibilities

• Report directly to the section manager and HOD
• Shall ensure that all supervisor(s) and technician(s) complete their testing and allocated work in a timely manner
• Shall conduct all laboratory tests, measurement and analysis when necessary and perform checks to ensure method accuracy for the measurement and analysis
• Shall ensure that GR&R is performed for the instruments and records are maintained
• Shall perform troubleshooting of instruments and facilities when there is any breakdown and ensure all maintenance and calibration is performed as scheduled and ensure reports are written
• Shall perform validation and commissioning of new instruments and methods and maintain records of validation and commissioning
• Shall assist in technical evaluations in accordance with direction given after discussion
• Shall participate in customer complaints investigation (for analysis related complaints)
• Shall troubleshoot quality issues (within department - both sections)
• Shall maintain and update the inventory record of all instruments/facilities parts (liaise with vendor for quotation) and ensure proper records and inventory level are maintained
• Shall monitor (and prepare reports) on QC instruments/facilities and EHS performance through statistical reports and initiate continuous improvement projects (including operation-related)
• Shall participate in audits (internal and external)
• Shall assist the senior engineer and QC section manager in the design of laboratory facilities / laboratory expansion
• Shall ensure area housekeeping is done at all work areas
• Shall promote and participate in QEHS activities and ensure that all procedures are strictly adhered to by the supervisors and technicians in all aspects of the activities
• Shall understand Risk Management and ensure that the risks identified and the control measures are communicated to the supervisors and technicians
• Shall actively participate in all quality / environmental, health and safety programs conducted by the company
• Performs any other tasks as instructed by the senior engineer, QC section manager and HOD

• Good working knowledge of quality control standards and familiarity with analytical instruments like ICP-MS, AAS, IC, TOC, etc
