Credit Senior Executive

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Main focus is on credit analysis of counterparties in the marine shipping industry;
• Familiar with Credit Risk framework;
• Credit analysis of new and/or existing counterparties to identify key credit risk issues and recommend appropriate credit limits for agreement approval or to detect and deterioration of financial condition and adverse industry risk for credit approval;
• Procure credit approvals and apply trade credit insurance coverage in a timely manner and review temporary limit excesses requests to facilitate business development;
• Monitor and assess customers’ credit standing on a periodic basis;
• Monitor credit risk exposure and ensure customers’ accounts stay within approved credit limits;
• Summarize customers’ credit utilization and produce weekly Credit Utilization reports;
• Monitor & consolidate the status of the Company’s AR and collection trends on a biweekly basis;
• Work and liaise with internal departments on credit risk issues and to ensure compliance of credit regulations;
• Keep up with the latest news and updates on existing counterparties’ and the industry, and flag any potential changes to the creditworthiness of these counterparties;
• Prepare various credit & risk related reports for submission and/or circulation;
• Assist in trade credit Insurance related matters;
• Provide administrative support to the Risk Control Department and Credit Committee;
• Submit requests to the SAP team for new counterparty/customer/Ship owner setup in system;
• Any other duties as assigned by Credit General Manager in-charge.

REQUIREMENTS

• 3+ years of experience in credit risk analytics /credit control with knowledge on marine/shipping sector preferred
• Strong analytical and excel skills. Ability to automate processes via programming preferred.
• High attention to detail, strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
• Strong in communication and interpersonal skills
• Degree in Financial Engineering preferred, or any discipline related to Banking & Finance / Economics / Statistics / Accountancy; Additional qualifications such as CFA or FRM will be advantageous
• Strong knowledge of MS Office programs
• Strong negotiation skills with ability to find creative solutions.

Applicants who have experience in credit analysis with Shipping / Marine companies will have an advantage.

Department Duties & Responsibilities

1. Including customer credit evaluation, credit grading, trade credit insurance, internal monitoring & management;
2. Review and approve new counterparties for onboarding;
3. Evaluate credit applications through Company’s internal system;
4. Monitor credit exposures of existing customers & mitigation actions thereof;
5. Assist in applications for credit limits over approved limits and/or urgent requests for credit limit changes;
6. Keep to date with credit standing of active counterparties;
7. Monitor and review status of AR & collection trends
8. Implement improvement to existing processes and/or additional controls to address counterparty risk issues;
9. Prepare credit reports including Master counterparty list, credit utilization report and late payment list;
10. Report to Credit Committee on urgent credit issues.
11. Flag any early earning signals and manage exception reporting.

1. Physical trading customers; and
2. Ship owner, ship agent, cargo owner, broker & others
