About the role
McConnell Dowell seeks an experienced Commercial Manager for our civil marine works projects in Singapore.
Key Responsibilities
- The efficient and effective management of the commercial and contractual activities within the Project.
- The professional development of contract administration and project management staff in commercial matters.
- Effective and consistent implementation of the Company’s commercial policies and procedures.
- Commercial risks and opportunities are identified and addressed in a timely manner.
- Head Contract administration and management.
- Cost control, cashflow forecast, monthly forecasts.
- Preparation and updating of risk and opportunity registers, taking appropriate risk management measures and converting opportunities to reality.
- Maintain contractual records such as contract correspondence, contractual changes, status reports and other documents for the project.
- Contractual close out of the project, incl. final account.
- Manage and promote the training of contract administration and project management commercial tools and ensure the training activities are planned to meet current and future organisation and employee needs.
- Assist in the management of contractual and commercial disputes and where applicable the coordination and direction to the General Manager - Commercial.
- Attend and assist in commercial resolution with clients, contractors or consultants. Prepare internal management reports and report on dispute status.
- Assist in the preparation of subcontractor and consultant contract forms ensuring appropriate forms and commercial terms are duly incorporated and provide advice accordingly.
- Provide advice and information to projects on contractual and commercial matters including compliance with contract documents, legislation and/or relevant Standards.
- Liaise and coordinate with other Business Unit Project and line Managers for provision of day-to-day assistance and advice as required.
- Participate in external audits in consultation with the QSE Manager.
- Assist in the review of monthly Project financial reports.
- Any other duties as may be required by the Company.
About You
To be considered for this role, you will have;
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and minimum of ten years experience in project / contractual engineering.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse contractual/legal issues and provide solutions through appropriate problem solving techniques.
- Sound commercial acumen accompanies by proven and inter-relationship skills evidence by effective dispute resolutions.
- Able to commence work within short notice.
- Able to work alternate 6 days work week.
- Transport pickup at Tanah Merah MRT.
