Our client is a fintech enterprise that has regional remit empowering businesses to streamline payments, automate processes, and take control of their back office finance processes. This is a replacement role reporting into a very experienced general counsel alongside 2 compliance team members in Singapore.
Responsibilities
- Be the legal guardian of Singapore operations, providing strategic guidance and support on a wide range of matters.
- Partner with leadership to navigate complex legal landscapes, including payments regulations, data privacy, and IP.
- Ensure we stay compliant with all applicable laws and regulations, keeping our business safe and thriving in the region (utilising external counsels)
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts for business operations and product development
- Proactively monitor legislative changes and advise on potential impacts to our operations. Be the liaison partner for MAS.
Requirements
- Min 4 PQE and Singapore-qualified as this is predominantly focusing on the Singapore market.
- In-house experience in a fintech, payments, or technology company is a major plus.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment – you're motivated, efficient, and organized.
- Passionate about the fintech space, eager to tackle novel regulatory challenges, and adaptable to change.
- Proven ability to deliver practical, commercially-minded legal solutions that balance business growth with risk mitigation.
