In your capacity as Project Manager, you will report to the Senior Director, Delivery Excellence, in the Digital and Technology business unit, which provides Star Alliance member airlines with expert knowledge in the areas of IT Architecture, IT Delivery, IT Operations, IT Security, and Project Management.
Our Project Manager is a high-profile role for the successful candidate to ensure the delivery of projects for Star Alliance in conjunction with the responsible Product Managers and Business IT Solution Managers.
Job Summary
- Lead and manage multi-cultural project teams by building consensus to successfully achieve project goals and ensure project delivery.
- Develop project plans including baselines for schedule and budget according to the scope and risk associated with the project.
- Produce high-quality project deliverables by applying the Star Alliance project management methodology throughout all project phases.
- Manage the project budget by approving expenditures, analysing variances, initiating corrective actions, and managing change.
- Analyse project results and take corrective action to maintain schedule and cost baselines
- Clearly communicate project plans and status to all stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers & Business IT Solution Managers in the development of project objectives, project plans, and project deliverables.
- Coordinate deliverables and schedules of the globally diverse Star Alliance member airlines and third-party vendors to achieve project goals.
Your Profile
- PMP certification.
- Agile project management.
- Project planning and reporting, team management and mentorship, resourcing & build estimation support, budgeting, and risk mitigation.
- Jira and Confluence administration.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks, handle shifting priorities and carry through on task completion.
- A minimum of five years of work experience in a project management role, preferably within the airline industry.
- Experience in IT systems development, preferably airline systems development.
- Proactive and self-motivated individual with facilitation and consensus-building skills.
- Demonstrated leadership with a proven record of achieving goals.
- Cross-cultural work experience, with exceptional relationship and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- A high level of proficiency in English is essential, as it is the sole language used for communication with Star Alliance Member Airlines and other external stakeholders.
