Reporting to Operations Manager
Purpose
· The role is to oversee projects performed with the project team. Responsible for coordinating every aspect of the project from reviewing contract terms to coordinating deadlines, budgets and effectiveness. Ensure timely review and approval of any variations.
· Provide recommendations and negotiate directly with customer or purchasing staff or subcontracts to craft a final contracts that is satisfactory to all parties.
· To oversee the full spectrum of the project functions with project manager, ensure timely and accurate procurement, project cost control, progress claims, billings, WIP, collections, final account, retention tracking and project reconciliation
· Leading the work of a team to achieve goals and meet success criteria at a specified time in order to achieve profitability within the given constraints.
Core Function
· Serving as the liaison between clients, main-con, and vendors as the main facilitators for negotiations on costing, recommendations for materials, record keeping (SI, AI), project schedule monitoring, and more.
· Plans a budget and ensures cost-effective operations for a project including the commercial risks identified.
· Help ensure that commercial processes are adhered to company’s contract objectives and ensuring that all aspects of the contract during the bidding and execution phase are addressed with the objective of contributing to maximise project revenues
· Review and evaluating and execution contract terms to coordinating deadlines, approving budgets and more.
· Ensure that the subcontractors are engaged appropriately with the correct contract terms and conditions.
· Ensure timely follow up with client for the approval of progress claim, variations works, issuing of final account and retention release.
· Provide commercial and contractual advice and guidance to the project team or other departments
· Intervene and resolve problems. , eg, delays in project schedule, and evaluation concerns from clients and subcontractors
· Create strategies (e.g. value engineering) to reach contract objectives and build network (relationship with client/subcon).
· Provide support and advice on new potential businesses opportunities if any.
Job requirements:
· Diploma/ Degree in Quantity Surveying/ Building or equivalent relevant qualification
· Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience
· Strong negotiation Skills
· Competent in costing related computer software
· Good team player, highly motivated, meticulous and cost conscious
· Able to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure
· Able to start work immediately.
