Responsibilities:
- Identify and establish relationships with reliable cheese & dairy products suppliers.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to secure cost-effective and quality products.
- Conduct regular inspections of incoming shipments to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Collaborate with suppliers to address quality concerns and implement corrective actions.
- Stay informed about market trends, pricing, and industry developments to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Analyze customer preferences and adjust product offerings accordingly.
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with the logistics team to ensure timely deliveries.
- Implement effective inventory control measures to minimize waste and optimize stock levels.
- Work closely with the finance department to manage and control budgetary aspects related to cheese & dairy products' procurement.
- Explore opportunities for cost savings without compromising on product quality.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers to convey expectations and resolve any issues promptly.
Prerequisites:
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience as a Buyer specialising in cheese & dairy products or in a similar procurement role within the food industry.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of cheese & dairy products, quality standards, and industry trends.
- Ability to analyze market data and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Understanding of food safety regulations and quality control processes.
