The Workshop Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the construction workshop. This position involves handling workshop scheduling, operating CNC machines, and managing QA/QC documents to ensure high standards of quality and efficiency are maintained.
Core responsibilities
1. Workshop Scheduling
- Coordinate and manage the workshop schedule to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of projects
- Communicate with project managers, CNC operators, and other stakeholders to align on deadlines and resource allocation
- Adjust schedule as needed to accommodate changes in project timeline or priorities
2. CNC Operation
- Operate CNC machines to produce parts and components as per technical specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of CNC machinery to ensure optimal performance
- Program CNC machine based on detailed drawings and CAD files
- Monitor machines operations to detect malfunctions or deviations from specifications
3. Quality Assurance and Quality Control
- Review and maintain QA/QC documentation for all workshop activities
- Conduct inspections and quality checks on completed work to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
- Record and report any non-conformances or quality issues, and assist in implementing corrective actions
- Collaborate with the QA/QC team to continuously improve workshop process and quality standards
4. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of workshop activities, including schedules, production logs, and quality control reports
- Assist in the preparation of reports and presentation for management review
- Ensure all documentation is up-to-date, properly filed, and accessible to relevant personnel
5. Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations within the workshop environment
- Participate in safety meetings and training sessions
- Promote a culture of safety and ensure that all safety protocols are followed by team members
Education
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Technical certification in CNC operation or a related field is preferred
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a workshop or manufacturing environment
- Proficient in AutoCad and/or Solidworks
- Able to operate Forklift / Reach truck
- Class 3 license
