Job Responsibilities:
- Participate in the Project Planning Process. The successful candidate is to work with the project manager to create a project plan and outline the resources needed to complete each phase of the project. He/she must understand how each component contributes to the project to best supervise it to completion.
- Communicate effectively between Low-Level Employees and Senior Management. A project coordinator must have a good rapport with low-level employees to gather valuable feedback regarding the production process. Happy workers are more productive, so it is up to project supervisors to work with senior management to settle any grievances.
- Coordinate Labor Needs and Train Employees. Project coordinators are responsible for coordinating all labor needs for a given project. This involves picking internal team members, as well as hiring and training external labor when necessary. It also involves creating and delivering project instructions to all team members.
- Facilitate the Material Purchase and Delivery of Resources. Project coordinators work with the supply chain management team to order the resources necessary to complete a project. They also are responsible for the timely delivery of these resources.
- To ensure timely completion of project within the targeted budget. Project coordinators perform all the tasks necessary to keep a project on time and on budget. This involves keeping track of financial records, shipment records, daily labor logs, as well as constant communication with senior management.
- Ensuring teams work together to deliver quality work to strict deadlines.
- Monitoring construction processes, and providing training and team building sessions are required.
- Always Ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Performing equipment, material, and routine site inspections.
- Scheduling regular meetings with vendors, site inspectors, managers, and staff.
- Writing up reports, budgets, project plans, and presenting them to relevant stakeholders.
- Working closely with architects and other professionals.
- Staying up to date with safety codes and advancements in construction.
- Assisting with the recruitment and training of new staff.
- Processing paperwork and traveling to multiple sites as required.
Requirements:
- High school, Trade Certificates, diploma or similar.
- Experience in the construction industry required.
- Experience in a leadership role recommended.
- Valid Class 3 driver's license.
- Need BCSSC Certification.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to focus and keep calm under pressure.
- Ability to keep track of multiple projects.
