Responsibilities
Vessel Maintenance and Repairs
- Oversee scheduled maintenance, dry-docking, and repairs of assigned vessels.
- Coordinate with shipyards, contractors, and suppliers to ensure timely execution of maintenance tasks.
- Monitor vessel performance and address technical issues promptly.
Safety and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with international regulations (ISM, ISPS, MLC, etc.) and company policies.
- Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
- Implement corrective actions to enhance safety culture.
Budget Management
- Develop and manage budgets for vessel maintenance, spare parts, and repairs.
- Optimize costs while maintaining operational efficiency.
- Monitor expenses and report variances.
Technical Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of vessel maintenance, inspections, and certifications.
- Prepare technical reports, including condition assessments and performance evaluations.
Crew Training and Development
- Train shipboard personnel on technical procedures, safety protocols, and emergency response.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and skill development.
Performance Monitoring
- Monitor vessel performance metrics (fuel consumption, machinery efficiency, etc.).
- Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective measures.
Vendor Management
- Evaluate and select vendors for spare parts, equipment, and services.
- Negotiate contracts and monitor vendor performance.
Emergency Response
- Coordinate emergency response procedures during critical incidents.
- Ensure crew readiness for emergencies.
Environmental Compliance
- Implement environmental protection measures (ballast water management, emissions control, etc.).
- Stay informed about industry trends and regulations.
Technical Innovation
- Explore new technologies and best practices to enhance vessel performance.
- Collaborate with R&D teams to implement innovative solutions.
Requirements
- Min COC 1 or Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Technical Superintendent in the maritime industry.
- Proficiency in technical systems, including propulsion, electrical, and automation.
- Strong knowledge of international maritime regulations and industry standards.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
