Telepathy Labs is a series-A startup pioneer in voice and conversational AI. Telepathy Labs powers STELLA Automotive, an artificial intelligence digital voice assistant that can answer an unlimited number of calls simultaneously, route calls, answer frequently asked questions and book service appointments for automotive dealership customers across the United States.
We’re hiring a Tech Lead Engineer in Singapore who will report to the Engineering Manager for our Communications Services team, also based in Singapore. This team is in the critical path for every STELLA Automotive customer interaction.
Responsibilities include technology development across telephony, OmniChannel Messaging APIs, and configuration ownership across hundreds of paying tenants. Our platform services teams are actively up-leveling our operational posture and going big with near real-time data. The team’s tech stack consists largely of C#, ASP.NET, Docker containers on Linux, and Kubernetes.
What you'll do
- Architect, design, and directly implement backend services for Telepathy Labs' reference SaaS platform. This stack currently serves customer scenarios for auto dealerships and their retail consumers using phone calls, SMS, and AI-driven chatbots.
- Incrementally deliver full stack software as part of a multi-functional agile team
- Partner with engineers, product managers, AI + ML scientists, and data scientists to deliver world-class customer experiences
- Define technical vision through collaboration with engineers across multiple teams
- Provide guidance, feedback, education and mentoring to other engineers
- Take an active technical leadership role in the company’s evolving Operational Excellence availability program. Help us build for scale and reliability. What we're looking for
- 8+ years of professional experience building large-scale, multi-tenant, consumer-facing software at web scale
- Experience with cloud-based development and Linux
- Knowledge of relational databases and SQL
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile development practices; eagerness to help teams do this well
- Experience with back-end technologies in one or more programming languages using C#, Go, and TypeScript
- Experience in turning ideas into reliable code others find easy to understand and modify; sound understanding of Object Oriented Programming
- Data-driven customer obsession with a passion for operational excellence, scalability, observability, and reliability
- Experience building RESTful APIs and maturing young systems into a proper Service Oriented Architecture
- Experience with event-based architectures and taste regarding where event-based designs are an appropriate answer when serving customers at web scale
- Passion for testing, debugging, and code quality
- TDD and pairing experience to build healthy, sustainable engineering teams
- Passion for continuous improvement
Added Advantage
- Experience with Microsoft Azure and associated technologies, including Service Bus and Event Hubs
- Experience with Azure Communication Services and/or omni-channel communication (IP Telephony, VoIP/SIP, SMS)
