Job Description
- Lead and supervise a team of housekeeping staff, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations to ensure high service standards.
- Assign daily tasks and responsibilities to housekeeping staff, ensuring efficient and effective cleaning of guest rooms and public areas.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms and public areas to ensure cleanliness and adherence to hotel standards.
- Ensure all guest rooms and public areas are cleaned to the highest standards.
- Address and resolve any housekeeping issues or complaints from guests promptly and professionally.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of housekeeping storage areas and carts.
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies, linens, and guest amenities, ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained.
- Coordinate with the housekeeping manager to order supplies and manage budget effectively.
- Oversee the proper use and maintenance of housekeeping equipment and machinery.
- Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for housekeeping staff to enhance their skills and performance.
- Ensure staff compliance with hotel policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and high morale.
- Maintain accurate records of housekeeping activities, including cleaning schedules, staff attendance, and inventory usage.
- Prepare and submit reports to the housekeeping manager on the department’s performance and any issues encountered.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a housekeeping supervisory role
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Comprehensive understanding of housekeeping procedures, cleaning techniques, and safety standards.
- Knowledge of hotel industry standards and best practices.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in hospitality management or related fields are a plus.
- Certification in housekeeping management or similar qualifications is desirable.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings, as required.
- Physically capable of performing cleaning tasks and operating housekeeping equipment.
