Role Purpose:
The role is the country lead for business improvement, efficiency and cost management for Singapore teaching operations through effective teacher utilization, management of direct costs and process improvement to improve margins. Accountable for the delivery of in-year efficiency targets and agreed teaching KPIs. This is a key role in ensuring that the teaching business is sustainable, future focused and delivers on the agreed operational performance objectives in line with the agreed business plan for Singapore teaching.
Main accountabilities but not limited to the following:
Service delivery
- Working with the Cluster Operations Lead, translates Global and Regional English strategies into a 1 year operation plan for Singapore teaching, including continual improvement to the teaching operation, effective integration of new products/services /delivery methods and process/ systems changes and deploys resources efficiently and cost-effectively to deliver the commercial strategy.
- Liaises closely with Country Operations managers to clarify, agree, and re-negotiate (as necessary) local targets to deliver improvements in margin.
- Ensure the effective and efficient management of logistics of Singapore Teaching centre/branches (timetabling, stock management etc.).
- Drives innovation of the teaching delivery model, identifying opportunities to improve delivery efficiencies and effectiveness, to best meet customer needs.
- Responsible for safeguarding practices, policies and risk management for young learners and adults within the teaching operation in Singapore.
Relationship and Stakeholder management
- Develops and maintains excellent relationships and communication with internal stakeholders across Singapore teaching (including Academic, Commercial, Sales and C & M and Marketing), to inform and enable medium-term innovation and improvements in the quality of teaching delivery.
Analysis and Reporting
- Accountable for implementing agreed business process improvement across Singapore teaching based on historic, current, and projected operational performance data.
- Inputs into monthly forecasting for month-end commentary and monitors agreed monthly teaching Operations KPIs.
Risk and compliance
- In collaboration with Country Operations Managers, delivers agreed risk mitigation actions for the Singapore teaching operation.
- Ensures Teaching Centres are compliant and monitors performance.
- Leads on internal and external audits from planning to follow up.
- Serves as a point of escalation for Operation Managers on significant issues.
Commercial and/or financial management
- Leads the annual resource planning for operational delivery to ensure capacity to deliver demand for teaching products & services. Monitors, analyses, and reports variances to plan to enable in-year and medium-term improvements to operational efficiency and business effectiveness.
- Delivers on agreed utilisation and efficiency targets for teachers & classroom space, monitoring operation KPIs & ensuring country Operations Managers are effectively managing teacher scheduling/timetables.
- Actively contributes to premise management decision making and planning.
- Assures expenditure, deferred income and cashflow through monthly reporting cycle on behalf of Singapore teaching.
- Actively seeks to maximise value for money when acquiring resources, goods or services for Singapore teaching.
Leadership & management
- Leads and manages the teaching Operations function across Singapore
- Embeds Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) and Safe Guarding across Singapore teaching and in the work of the teaching operations function through agreed regional and global priorities and workplans.
- Supports workforce planning and contributes to the development and delivery of training, support and knowledge-sharing activities for the Operations team to build operational skills and capability.

- Experience of cost and resource management for a large / complex operations.
- Experience of successful delivery of significant business process improvement.

Requirements
- Minimum with Degree or equivalent experience in relevant discipline
