About The Role
This is an 18-month contract role.
Shell Mobility represents the single largest customer-facing business in the Shell Group, serving more than 30mln mobility and over 1mln Fleet customers per day through 500,000 service champions on over 46,000 sites across 70+ countries. Mobility is critical to establish Shell as The Low Carbon Leader, with ambitions to be the no. 1 mobility and convenience retailer and with the world’s leading EV charging network. We’re evolving from ‘fuels retailer’ to ‘mobility retailer’- innovating to meet our customers’ changing expectations around energy transition, convenience, product quality, digitalization and service.
Purpose: As CVP Manager, you will have overall process ownership and accountability for the effective development, launch and optimisation of eMobility Products in Asia as well as defining and owning the medium- and long-term CVP roadmap for B2B EV fleets for that region. You will act as the go-to expert for pulling together efforts across SFS and its partners inside and outside Shell to ensure Product and Process teams are consistently and predictably developing and delivering the right products for our customers. You will manage across the horizontal value chain of design and delivery, thinking ‘end-to-end’ in how we research, identify, prioritise and launch products via our Sales & Marketing Teams, helping them be at their most effective in developing and selling emobility propositions in the market.
Responsibilities
- Identify emerging trends and propositions, including where these may require new and complex business relationships
- Gather and synthesise customer insight and competitive intelligence; steer Marketing and Product teams for e-mobility related activities
- Manage the emerging technology and CVP roadmap and work with IT and Demand and Development Teams to realise
- Work with other CVP Managers to integrate Asia CVP Roadmaps into the wider context of Shell’s electrification and power strategy, and vice versa
- Ensure complex deal making for key accounts is supported effectively with product and sales expertise
- Manage and balance competing complex priorities between Heads of Sectors, local teams, Marketing, Customer Insights team, Product teams in SRS and Shell IT.
- Act as interface to key regional stakeholders in other functions, Mobility and SRS, to ensure alignment on development of the offering and the associated collateral.
Special Challenges
- No-blueprint environment, unchartered territory
- Managing and delivering central and local services via local marketing & sales, and finally achieving desired business growth
- Multiple use cases depend on one ecosystem of hardware, software, apps etc - there is high interdependency across the business
- Striking the balance between the need to further develop the CVPs to meet new customer requirements & stay ahead of competition, and getting the most out of the existing platforms and features available
- Ability to share a strategic vision with senior management and get their buy-in whilst tackling operational details to scale the product in market.
Requirements
- Strong negotiation and engagement skills, balancing conflicting priorities and views to achieve the right outcome for Shell and customers.
- Strong English skills, verbal and written. Other languages would be a benefit, but not essential.
- Ability to build a persuasive business case with commercial acumen and thought leadership
- Experience in electric mobility or an adjacent business (solar, wind, etc) is preferred
- B2B Marketing Experience such as collecting customer insights & market research / analysis
