Business Planning Manager, TTO & Functions Finance

Job Summary

· TTO and Group Functions is a $6.5bn+ combined cost base organisation that provides technology, operations and corporate function services for the bank.

· The role will directly support the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), TTO and Global Functions, in driving the strategic agenda and effectiveness of the TTO and Functions Finance unit.

· You will be someone that can operate at pace, navigate the organisation and relationships at every level, with experience of, designing and implementing strategy. You must have passion and resilience, strong relationship building and influencing skills, be highly organised and be an excellent communicator (written and verbal). This role will suit someone who can learn fast, has intellectual curiosity and commercial mindset and proactively take initiative to get things done.

Key Responsibilities
Strategy

· Play an active role within the TTO and Functions Finance Management Team, supporting the CFO to deliver business objectives and build value creation.

· Support the CFO in defining the target operating model (including offshoring strategy and resource allocation) of the TTO and Functions Finance unit.

· Create an effective communications and engagement strategy for the TTO and Functions Finance function (comms, rewards and recognition), both within the unit and across the organization. Define the agenda and host TTO/Functions Finance MT and leadership meetings, townhalls and offsites.

· Conceptualize and maintain performance goals and objectives for TTO and Functions Finance unit, in alignment with the broader GCFO priorities, ensuring objectives are well communicated and embedded across the function.

· Support execution of the function’s strategy and agenda, track delivery against the unit’s overall goals and ensure timely escalation and resolution of issues.

· Champion a change and continuous improvement mindset across the TTO and Functions finance unit.

· Lead campaigns to drive cost discipline and raise awareness of FFG across the TTO and Functions organization.

Business

· Support the CFO in all aspects of running the TTO & Functions Finance function.

· Provide project management support on key strategic priorities of the TTO / Functions Finance unit, including coordination and facilitation of finance support on FFG Program.

· Assist the CFO on Book of Work Prioritization, focusing the team’s time on areas that are most critical

· Support the CFO with execution and closure of action items from various committees where the CFO is either chair or a member, liaising with stakeholders and tracking progress.

· Plan for and ensure that CFO is appropriately briefed for all internal and external meetings

· Develop executive ready presentations and reports for internal and external forums

· Review and maintain the job descriptions of the CFO and direct reports.

Processes

· Challenge processes, policies, and procedures where there is a more effective way of doing things and raise awareness of best practices for regional adoption as identified.

· Help to identify and execute on improvements to core processes in the function.

People & Talent

· Drive and execute on the TTO and Functions Finance people agenda, optimizing talent retention, mobility and development.

· Lead by example, building the appropriate culture and values, using effective leadership, coaching and engagement.

· Set appropriate tone and expectations from the team and work in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

· Develop and embed a high performance culture with specific focus on capability, effectiveness and productivity. Support the development of talent to ensure a high-quality succession pipeline at all levels and ongoing development activities that focus on the identified high performing and high potential individuals within the function.

Risk Management

· Understand the risk and control environment in the CFO’s area of responsibility, driving rectification, as required.

· Understand and help manage the people-related risk profile of relevant the functions including operational and reputational risk, to Group Standards.

· Ensure the CFO is briefed on key finance, risk and governance issues.

Governance

· Manage the budget of TTO and Functions Finance Cost base and ensure strict cost and HC control.

· Embed the Group’s values and code of conduct, as it relates to the role remit, to ensure that adherence with the highest standards of ethics, and compliance with relevant policies, processes and regulations among employees form part of the culture.

· Engage with relevant audit report findings across the relevant functions and ensure feedback is acted upon.

Regulatory & Business Conduct

· Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.

· Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.

· Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

· Embed Here for good and Group’s brand and values in TTO and Functions Finance Globally. Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures; Multiple functions (double hats)

Our Ideal Candidate

· University Degree in Finance/ Business/ Economics related disciplines

· 12+ years experience ideally in areas of finance / business management / cost management.

· Flexible, adaptable with the ability to operate at pace and multi task. High level of responsiveness, sense of urgency; ability to operate in a highly pressurized & dynamic environment

· Strong drive for results, ability to plan, track and follow through to delivery.

· Highly strategic, consultative and solution oriented with the ability to assess and understand business & organizational issues/requirements & contextualize them in the Finance context.

· Strong execution capability, high discipline with excellent project management skills

· Exceptional relationship management skills. Strong ability to manage and effectively influence multiple stakeholders including senior management

· Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills i.e Powerpoint, Excel,

· Strong team orientation. Ability to work effectively in cross-cultural, cross-geographical, matrix environments
