- Monitoring the quality of welding work to ensure that it meets industry standards
- Developing and implementing safety policies, procedures, and practices for the workplace
- Reporting to management about the status of projects, including delays that may occur due to equipment problems or other issues
- Training new welders in proper welding techniques and safety procedures
- Reviewing blueprints and other plans to determine how welders will be able to implement them
- Providing technical assistance to other welders when needed
- Ensuring that proper safety precautions are taken while welding is being performed
- Assist in developing welding methods, operations, or procedures to solve production problems
- Recommend measures to improve productivity, minimize downtime, and reduce scrap loss
- Train new workers in welding techniques, safety procedures, or company policies
- Requisition supplies, such as electrodes, gas, or power sources
- Investigate accidents or incidents to determine causes and take corrective action
- Prepare reports on daily production activities
- Able to work on weekend and public holiday
