Job Description

  • To develop new business portfolio, strategic production and development plans for the Company, including the identification of new business opportunities and the planning and development of new initiatives.
  • To manage the (re)insurance intermediation as part of the team including production, risk placing, client servicing, claims handling and associated functions.
  • To produce clear and accurate documents and wordings for clients which provide the best possible cover in the market and adhere to all regulatory requirements.
  • Use appropriate class of business knowledge to produce contract documents and documents suited to the client’s needs.
  • Check and recommend amendments to policies/contract documents produced by others prior to agreement by Underwriters.
  • Check final contract documents against slip or proposal details to ensure appropriateness of the proposed standard policy.
  • Create original and complex contract documents and maintain database of contract documents and policy information.
  • Resolve Underwriter’s queries in a timely manner.
  • Learn the use of GXB and drive adoption of it throughout Price Forbes and to ensure that Tracking is completed promptly to reflect the status of any risk.
  • To ensure sound business practices and an adequate and pro-active risk control framework within the team and work within authority.
  • Maintain up-to-date and orderly filing including meeting and call records, and ensure documents are saved and files are passed on to the others in accordance with Company Rules and Procedures.
  • Work closely with Finance and Technical Processing department in resolving accounting and technical queries.
  • Provide and gather information to and from Clients, Underwriters, Brokers, and Technical Processing Colleagues as required.
  • Evaluate workflow, system and policy status and report to Line Manager on regular basis.
  • Facilitate KYC/Sanction compliance checks as relevant.
  • Calling on prospects and clients for new business opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Diploma holder or equivalent.
  • 3 to 4 years insurance related working experience (ideally broking).
  • Certification in General Insurance (CGI) or any equivalent professional qualification as required.
  • Ability to build and maintain profitable long-term relationships with clients and insurers.
  • Ability to prioritise and organise own workload.
  • Ability to work under pressure without supervision.
  • Collaborative team working approach.
  • Ability to work with employees at all organisational levels.
  • Accurate and attentive to details.
  • Good written and verbal communicating skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, word, power point) & Outlook.
