QUANTITY SURVEYOR CUM DRAFTSMAN
Work Location: Pioneer Centre
5.5-day week
Monday to Friday: 8am-5pm & Saturday: 8am-12nn
Salary: $2,600 to $3,800
Our client is a construction company, looking for a Quantity Surveyor who is able to do drafting work.
The incumbent will support the company’s Town Council projects which include construction of community hall, covered linkway, drop-off porch and hardcourt projects.
Roles & Responsibilities:
· Review construction plans and prepare quantity requirements.
· Scrutinize maintenance and material costs, as well as contracts to ensure the best deals for the company.
. Establish and maintain professional relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
· Liaise with site managers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors.
. Prepare reports, analysis, contracts, budgets, risk assessment, and other documents.
· Advise managers and clients on improvements and new strategies.
. Keep track of materials and order more materials when required.
· Document any changes in design and update budgets.
· Visit job sites as and when required.
· Follow specifications and calculations to create various technical drawings.
· Prepare both rough sketches and detailed work with CADD systems.
· Perform calculations for materials and weight limitations.
· Communicate with architects and engineers, and incorporate information acquired into drawings.
· Prepare, review and re-draft drawings alongside engineering team’s requirements.
· Ensure final designs are compliant with building regulations.
. Identify and communicate potential design problems to the team.
Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, engineering, management, or similar field.
· Sound knowledge of construction.
· Experience in handling construction estimates or finance would be advantageous.
· Experience in computer-aided design and drafting (CADD).
· Ability to draw manually would be advantageous, but not essential.
· Ability to organize, plan, and strategize.
· Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
· Excellent negotiation skills.
· Ability to respond well to criticism and maintain a positive attitude.
· Ability to work well in a team yet able to work independently.
· Great interpersonal skills with flair for networking.
. Able to work beyond the normal working hours if required.
. Possess a valid driving license.
