Main Duties and Responsibilities

We are seeking an accomplished Finance Manager to join our pre-opening team in Mandai Rainforest Resorts by Banyan Tree. As part of the pre-opening team, the incumbent will play a pivotal role in establishing and managing the financial setup for the Resort.


The Finance Manager will be responsible for establishing a robust financial foundation by setting up our accounting systems, ensuring financial compliance and ensuring all financial related matters are in-place from the get-go.


Key Responsibilities

  • The incumbent will assist the Director of Finance to develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and controls specific to the pre-opening phase. This includes overseeing the initial setup of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
  • The Finance Manager will also be responsible for (i) Cash flow management - initial capital expenditures, bank reconciliations, and cash forecasts; (ii) preparing pre-opening budgets, forecasts, and financial plans; and (iii) assisting in the development of financial reporting templates and tools for ongoing operations.
  • Set up and configure the Resort’s accounting software and systems to ensure efficient financial operations. The Finance Manager will collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of financial processes and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with both statutory and company-specific regulations. In performing this role, the Finance Manager will (i) establish and maintain accurate records of pre-opening expenses, fixed assets, and inventory, and (ii) Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial consultants as needed.
  • Cultivate a strong people culture by investing in the coaching and development of team members. The incumbent will take ownership of people-management matters for the department including recruiting, upskilling and mentoring team members.


Job Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
  • Solid track record of 4 to 6 years’ experience in a similar capacity, preferably in the hospitality industry. Pre-opening experience would be useful.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Able to handle matters independently, and able to exercise self-motivation to complete projects.
