Job Description:
As a Category Manager, the role involves managing and building relationships with various suppliers and stakeholders while overseeing the procurement strategies and negotiations for the respective categories assigned. The individual will be managing the spare parts categories of fleets regionally.
Responsibilities:
- Manage competitive procurement sourcing strategies.
- Identify and assess suppliers to meet business goals.
- Evaluate supplier performance and negotiate contracts to ensure favorable terms and pricing for spare parts.
- To comprehend market trends and conditions, conduct market analysis. Additionally, keep a close eye on supply market activity.
- Build a strong relationship with important suppliers to facilitate strategic cooperation.
- Manage strategic supplier relationships and performance through frequent supplier meetings, business reviews, and supplier performance evaluations.
- Provide regular reporting on category performance, including key metrics such as cost savings, supplier performance, and inventory turnover.
The Successful Candidate:
- Bachelors Degree in Logistics, Business Administration, Supply Chain or any related discipline is a plus.
- More than 2 years of experience in procurement and contract negotiations is a plus.
- Experience in dealing with spare parts in a logistics or transportation industry is advantageous.
- Stellar strategic and financial acumen is advantageous.
- Effective communication, both written and verbal, with all levels of management internally and externally; and excellent presentation skills is a plus.
