Our client, a leading wholesale digital bank is looking for an AML Advisory and EDD Reviewer. You will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) regulations and conducting enhanced due diligence (EDD) reviews for high-risk clients and transactions. Leveraging your expertise in AML advisory services and risk assessment, you will provide guidance to business units on AML requirements and conduct thorough reviews of customer profiles to mitigate financial crime risks.
Responsibilities:
- Provide AML advisory support to business units, including interpreting regulatory requirements, providing guidance on AML policies and procedures, and advising on AML-related matters.
- Conduct enhanced due diligence (EDD) reviews for high-risk clients and transactions, including politically exposed persons (PEPs), high-risk jurisdictions, and complex structures.
- Review and analyze customer due diligence (CDD) documentation, transactional activity, and other relevant information to assess the risk level and identify potential red flags or suspicious activities.
- Perform risk-based assessments of client profiles and transactions to ensure compliance with AML regulations, sanctions screening requirements, and internal policies.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including relationship managers, compliance officers, and risk management teams, to gather necessary information and address AML-related issues.
- Stay abreast of changes in AML regulations, industry best practices, and emerging financial crime trends, and provide guidance on the implementation of new requirements and enhancements to AML controls.
- Prepare comprehensive EDD review reports, documenting findings, risk assessments, and recommendations for further action, and escalate any significant issues or concerns to senior management.
- Assist in regulatory examinations, internal audits, and AML investigations by providing relevant documentation, analysis, and support as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, law, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., CAMS) preferred.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in AML compliance, advisory services, or EDD review within the banking or financial services industry, preferably in a wholesale banking environment.
- Strong understanding of AML regulations and requirements, including relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines applicable to wholesale banking activities.
- Proficiency in conducting EDD reviews for high-risk clients and transactions, with experience in assessing complex structures and conducting source of wealth analysis.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex information, identify patterns, and assess risk factors.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and completeness in documentation and record-keeping.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
