Human Resource Manager

Position: Human Resource Manager

Salary: $7000 - $7500

Job Description & Responsibilities

The HR Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating human resource management activities to maximize the strategic use of human resources. This role involves administering HR policies, ensuring compliance with labour laws, managing employee compensation, recruitment, development, and payroll, and supporting operations through effective staff supervision and administrative systems management.

Principal Accountabilities

HR Procedures and Compliance

  • Ensure HR procedures conform with Singapore Labor Law and company HR policies.
  • Maintain management guidelines by updating and recommending HR policies and procedures.
  • Stay informed about changes in Singapore Labor Law and their impact on HR policies.

Employment Procedures

  • Identify staff vacancies, recruit, interview, and select applicants.
  • Allocate human resources appropriately.
  • Provide employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, promotion opportunities, and benefits.
  • Handle staffing issues, including disputes, disciplinary procedures, and terminations.
  • Advise managers on policy matters and recommend changes as needed.
  • Administer recruitment processes through various channels to attract and retain qualified applicants.
  • Conduct new employee orientations and exit interviews.

Personnel Records, Time Management, and Payroll

  • Administer the HR system to ensure smooth and accurate operation.
  • Maintain historical HR records and up-to-date files for all personnel.
  • Provide payroll information for accurate preparation.
  • Monitor staff time management and leave balances.

Benefits Administration

  • Develop and oversee a competitive grading and salary scale.
  • Evaluate and rate job positions.
  • Manage employee benefits programs, including processing benefit claims and conducting educational programs.
  • Analyze and modify compensation and benefits policies for competitive and legal compliance.
  • Handle daily medical and other insurance claims.

Learning and Development

  • Analyze training needs to design employee development and health and safety programs.
  • Draft and update job descriptions and performance appraisal programs.
  • Train managers to coach and discipline employees, evaluate subordinates' performance, and manage grievances.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate efficient administrative procedures, systems, and processes.
  • Ensure smooth information flow within the company.
  • Supervise and monitor administrative staff.

Legal Department Responsibilities

  • Review ongoing cases and advise management.
  • Review and advise on legal implications of internal policies.
  • Maintain records of legal requirements.

Communication & Working Relationships

  • Collaborate closely with top management.
  • Interact with different department heads.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in Human Resources Management or Business Administration.
  • 8 -10 years of experience in hospitality management.
  • Excellent communication and computer skills.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Professionalism, flexibility, dedication, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to work long working hours and reachable at all times
