Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Lead the preparation of accurate financial reporting, both for internal and external purposes following required GAAP and regulatory standards, including providing support for more technical areas.
- Work with relevant partners to ensure accuracy of transactions and financial disclosure.
- Support the continued enhancement and ongoing development of multiple financial systems ensuring that all Finance needs are met.
- Complete aspects of the monthly close, including financial reporting, in compliance with US, or other relevant GAAP, or other regulatory requirements.
- Assist with preparation and review of detailed analysis and monthly/quarterly reconciliations, including reconciliation to the general ledger.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors.
- Lead the preparation of technical accounting memos observing US GAAP and help prepare more technically challenging accounting memos.
- Ensure appropriate SOX 404 processes exist and are followed for preparation and submission of financial data.
- Preparation or review of the various statutory filings and to ensure that these are submitted on time.
- Liaise with tax consultants to ensure that the tax filings are prepared timely and that they are accurate.
- Develop a strong knowledge of our various processes and technical accounting system.
- Manage Singapore’s claims process and liaise with the various parties involved to ensure that claims are accurate and complete.
- Assist the Controller to oversee various tasks where necessary.
Strategic Projects:
- Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvement and enhancement and propose solutions to improve the efficiency of the functional area.
- Lead or assist certain projects and projects workstreams in connection with global projects.
- Participate in miscellaneous project work and provide general assistance to the Finance Department and other teams.
Requirements:
- Degree preferred, with an emphasis on business, finance and accounting or comparable relevant experience.
- Professional accounting designation (e.g. CA, ACA, CPA)
- 5 - 7 years prior relevant industry experience (ideally including Big Four audit experience, preferably within the relevant industry (e.g. investment, insurance)
- Strong knowledge of IFRS
- Knowledge of US GAAP, and other relevant GAAP is advantageous.
- Experience with public companies and SOX 404 is advantageous
- Strong working knowledge of general ledger and other accounting sub-systems (Dynamics365, Workiva) is advantageous.
